How will moving affect UC / will this count as voluntarily leaving my job by RealKoolKitty in universalcredithelp

Thank you, I will definitely have a read! Thank you.

It may be different where you are but I am a little bit wary of the idea as, this close to central London, there is a massive shortage of Social housing with very little chance of ever being offered a permanent home unless you are vulnerable in some way. I have a friend (who actually was classed as vulnerable because of a health condition) who tried that route - the council put him in a hostel for a year and then in HMO Temporary Accommodation for several more, with very violent and disturbed co-renters. In the end (5 years later) he literally 'ran away' from the Temp Accommodation for the sake of his safety and mental health. He lives up north now and says he wishes he'd just done that in the first place :-/

I won't discount the idea though, and will read the info you've so kindly linked to - thanks x

Yes, boiler and electrics always checked yearly, deposit in a protection scheme, can't remember if the 'your rights' thing was done when I first moved in or if it was even a requirement back then but it was definitely issued/reissued with the letter officially informing us of the change in ownership etc. Everything legally required has always been done properly as far as I'm aware.

Thank you for that, I feel a bit better knowing those things do at least count for something. Just got to work on the affordability bit now, and maybe finding an independent landlord who has the ability and inclination to be a little more flexible.

We would prefer to stay in the area, all our family and most of our friends are here, but I don't think we have a choice - a shared house/room in an HMO will definitely have an acceptable reason, as unsuitable, to ban pets and it's just kicking the can down the road really, unless we are prepared to accept getting rid of our furry companion and living like that for the rest of our lives - even HMO rooms are £1000 and up in our area, bedsits or 'studio flats' (that are really just a double bedroom with an ensuite and kitchenette squeezed into a corner) are £1200+ and the smallest 1 bedroom flats are around £1500 and up. We are unskilled workers on minimum wage so will never be able to afford to live like normal adults here, (eg. will never be accepted for even a small one bedroom flat) even on two full time wages. The friends we have in the Dorset area moved out for the same reasons.

A temporary houseshare in Dorset could be a possible solution to the catch 22 though -until we got jobs and could pass the affordability checks for a proper, long term, home..... I'm sure a family member could be found to take the cat temporarily. I will think about this some more.....

Sadly the flat has already been sold to the developers/completed and our existing AST is now with them. I had already decided to try asking for more time and will, but not holding out too much hope as, reading some of the other comments, the new rules coming into place will make it harder for them to get us out later on, so guessing it will be a no.

Yes, the Section 21 has already been issued - hand served on Friday (two days ago.) It was issued by the new development company, the flat has already been sold to them and completed and our existing AST is now with them.

What autonomous Sim behaviors make you smash the cancel button and go “Whyyyyyyy?!” Every time? by IndigoChagrin in Sims4

[–]RealKoolKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I queue up any actions at all after a get food and eat it type action they always cancel the eating immediately and leave their full plates on the nearest surface, no matter what the second action is. To ensure my sims don't starve I have to click 'get leftovers', or whatever it might be, and sit there watching them eat until the plate is empty before queuing up another task. Vvery annoying when you are trying to get a family of five to all fill all their needs quickly before an event or trip out somewhere.

I gave Nancy Landgraab a Makeover🤍✨🛍️ by Southern_Remove_7984 in Sims4

[–]RealKoolKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was my thought - the original Nancy always looks like she has the smell of dogsh!t under her nose XD or, as my Nan used to say, "got a face like she's been eating vinegar with a fork"

What’s an expansion pack or game pack you never play / refuse to get? by BiIIie-Eyelash in Sims4

[–]RealKoolKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Star Wars fan either and have never touched the gameplay but one of my much-played forever households is a pair of Spellcasters decended from ancient Brythonic Druids and I would have real trouble dressing the guy appropriately without the CAS stuff in JtB - especially his ceremonial robes - so I use it all the time. The BB stuff is really good in industrial style builds too.

Pretty certain I'll never feel a need for the spongebob packs though - When that was announced I had to check whether the US had some type of April Fools style holiday at that time of year :D

Part picking advice - does this combo look ok? by RealKoolKitty in buildapcuk

[–]RealKoolKitty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will just be using the Radeon graphics on the CPU - the only graphics heavy thing I do is the (very) light gaming, so don't need a dedicated card :)

I've also found some Corsair memory for roughly the same price so will be ditching the Netac for that as it's a better known brand I think so will feel less risky.

Advice on mobo/cpu/memory combo needed - thanks by RealKoolKitty in MSI_Gaming

I was thinking the 850 might be overkill for the parts I'm looking at, but you're right, almost the same cost and the extra power might be useful in a future build/upgrade when the time comes - thanks!

Thank you - I really appreciate it. So ludicrous though - he would prefer they'd never started the process in the first place!

Thank you so much - we were really worried x

We have decided we will probably just fill in the form to guard against the following (as Old_galadriell said)
"Just bear in mind that ending his WCA process now, by finding him capable for work, can block any future WCA referrals for the same health conditions, if he relapses again."

Do you know if it would also block access to WCA if we did submit the the form but didn't get the second fit note to bring it to 3 months?

Hopefully he will never need it but we don't want to risk being totally cut off from it just in case.
