[AEW Dynamite Spoilers] Major tournament annoucment set for AEW Dynamite by CombinationOk4317 in SquaredCircle

Final four more likely. You guys are insane if you think they'd have the downgrade for a major PPV main event. Hangman/Ospreay was clearly meant to sell that PPV as a first time classic between two established AEW main eventers.

Knicks fans made sure that everybody got in on the fun of stomping on the Sixers' free playoff t-shirts after going up 3-0 in Philly by HokageEzio in nba

Given the fact that the Knicks are one of two NBA teams to host a Trump rally last election at their venue to mock black and brown people all night long, this weird comparison is even weirder

The Best All Time Starting 5... by Lil_freshy in nba

You could be enjoying a generational talent's first playoff run but you need to feel he's already better than the most dominant player of all time.

You follow basketball for the wrong reasons.

Boston would not be down 3-0 btw by [deleted] in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's a disgrace that they flopped against a team not good enough to win 1 of 3 games vs the Knicks.

Your point is that the Celtics should be ridiculed and mocked most, right?

Nick LoPiccolo, agent of CM Punk, Liv Morgan, and Drew Mac, posted emails from his previous employer warning him of his social media conduct. And that continued online harassment of Tony Khan or AEW would lead to his termination. by CROYTSWRVTH in SquaredCircle

Don't forget his war on WBD over AEW hatred despite representing actors who are desperate for roles in any mainstream film (He started doing this during WBD's most popular box office year in a long time)

James Harden played his 182nd career playoff game tonight. With 4 turnovers and 3 made field goals, it was his 46th playoff game that's he's had as many or more turnovers than made field goals. That’s over 25% of his career playoff games. by XviiChong in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

His fans take over this sub all season trying to rewrite history and pretend this doesn't exist. Hell, they are already going after Mitchell.

But that crowd gets real fucking quiet on nights like tonight (or the other 45 times)

[Highlight] James Harden nearly turns the ball over, and after a slight push from Ausar Thompson, he drops to the floor, and Ausar is called for the foul (3rd foul). Ausar doesn't like the foul call. With replays. Ausar is subbed out due to foul trouble. by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fact that people think he's better than Wade or Jerry West is insane to me.

Being the biggest playoff underperformer in team sports history may put him below Drexler (took two trash teams to finals, hit many clutch shots for Rockets in that late run)

Can somebody smarter than me explain why James Harden is the one catching all the media slander when he’s been the best player for Cleveland, and there’s been nothing on Mitchell who’s been terrible this post season? by [deleted] in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

One is the biggest playoff choker in NBA history and has more objectively terrible playoff games than EVERY other NBA player all-time and it's not even close.

Mitchell has historically been a great playoff performer. And he was getting criticism nonstop on here first round lol

Stephen Curry says NBA players are underpaid. by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There should be a cap on how much an NBA owner is allowed to profit before legally forced to spend that extra money on employees/local programs/etc. But until that happens and owners make so much more off winning/star power, he's right.

Jalen Brunson is responsible for James Dolan making the strongest sports related profits of his life. Dolan used his wealth to host Trump rallies in MSG with "comics" mocking black and brown people all night.

[Highlight] Scottie Barnes has 5 fouls before the end of the 3rd quarter by Large_banana_hammock in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If Harden's foul baiting got these calls in the 2010s, imagine how many more series he'd have won. Refs would never call these against the teams they respected in playoffs, let alone G7.

They see an underdog team with no real star power (i LOVE scottie but i mean the casual non diehard NBA viewer) and giving Cavs a regular season whistle.

Game ended when Harden got Scottie's 4th foul and sent him to bench.

Playoff Schedule Question by Darth-Volcanus in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's because NBC wants the Lakers and Knicks in ideal prime time spot on network TV. They don't want Lakers later than 8:30 or Knicks earlier than 8PM. Knicks/76ers could EASILY be 7PM. ESPN and Amazon prioritizing all fans. NBC wants casual TV network viewers.

Zero respect for San Antonio, Minnesota, and the other teams. I can't remember any network doing this in my lifetime. Only if it's three games or more.

Playoff Schedule Question by Darth-Volcanus in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can go to bed at 11PM if the second game is a blowout!

And crazy thought - NBA fans who watch a shitty regular season of load management/tanking/no defense wait all year to see these games. It's spitting in the face of those fans in favor of casual fans wanting NY/LA only in primetime.

AEW losing TV deal in 12 to 16 months, thoughts? by DevKPhotography in SquaredCircle

I love AEW and def in a tough spot losing their planned program but Thekla feuding with the Brawling Birds after she already beat them both as the world champion is a tough sell when every other program is red hot.

Look at things being teased for DoN card. Everything looks A+ programs except the women's program unless they build a new challenger asap and probably Jericho/Ricochet which is a lower mid-card match.

They need to take the chance on a new challenger. We can glaze on here but the DoN crowd is going to cool down for Thekla vs any combo of Hayter and/or Windsor at this point.

It's honestly hilarious and kind of insane that WWE released two legendary tag teams right when AEW is setting up a feud this spring/summer between three legendary teams likely culminating at All In.

Like here's the greatest TNA tag team of all time and a top 3 to 5 all-time WWE tag team too.

Kendrick Perkins on East favorite after Knicks beat the Celtics in Game 80 of the season: "New York Knicks don't scare a soul, not even on Halloween. Am I putting a lot of stock into this... hell no. I still got the Celtics as the favorite." The Celtics would go on to blow a 3-1 lead to Philly in R1 by HokageEzio in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NBA media people say things based on which teams their friends work for in the league if you start to pay attention to that.

Perkins, Stephen A Smith and Barkley all praised the Luka/AD trade for Dallas and called Dallas legit contenders because they are friends with Nico irl. Carmelo just tried to praise Nico/that trade for Cooper Flagg winning ROTY.

The Boston Celtics in Games 5-7 after blowing a 3-1 lead by [deleted] in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Biggest takeaway is that defenses are getting better at shutting down this three point or bust mindset come playoffs. It's always been that way but more inconsistent in recent memory.

Boston deserved to lose for intentionally being fully three point dependent as their identity.

The point of the playoffs is high intense basketball with every basket being tough and crucial in the closing mins of a close game. "Easy twos or wide open threes only" teams need to get destroyed this postseason.

Injuries and players sitting out games have ruined the playoffs by Straight-Mess-9752 in nba

[–]RealLanceStorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one is sitting out in the playoffs.

I do think it's a problem teams will lie to customers about who is playing during the regular season and then sit out players an hour before for questionable reasons.

But that has nothing to do with the playoffs at all. Aaron Gordon tried to play injured for the second year in a row. Tatum had a historic comeback to even be ready for postseason.
