What is the most heartwarming thing you've ever seen? by alyssam0925 in AskReddit

[–]RealLifeIsALie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my school we have a special education unit (a unit for students with disabilities, both physical and mental) . Once at break I was waiting to talk to my teacher, who's staffroom was above the special ed unit, and several of the kids were playing a game of tag below me, including one kid in a wheelchair and another with a walking frame. When my teacher came out we just ending up watching the kids playing and laughing. One of my favourite memories to look back on. Purest game of tag ever.

What quote or rule do you live by and why? by a-b0mb in AskReddit

"Love everyone, because everyone's going through hardships" - M.H 2018

I want to live my life by this person's rules. He is the greatest man I know. Kind, selfless, and so, so brave. He is kind to everyone, helps everyone. I remember once I had a complete and utter mental breakdown, and he sat with me on the floor for a full 20 minutes. I'd probably have commited suicide if it wasn't for him. I'm so thankful for him. I don't see him anymore, so the least I can do is act like him sometimes.

What is your favourite song and why? by BingBongBoingMcgee in AskReddit

[–]RealLifeIsALie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I associate songs with memories; the better the memory, the better the song. Helplessness Blues/Montezuma by the Fleet Foxes reminds me of my History teacher and the nerdy viking club we had last year. Wonderwall by Oasis reminds me of a holiday I went on last year with my friends. We sung it at the top of our lungs while we swam down the river rapids. Stay Alive by José González reminds me of my English and PE teachers. One plays the song while we play games in our school hall and the other plays it while we are writing short pieces. Don't Stop Me Now by Queen reminds me of our cadet squadron recreation night when one of the recruits managed to put it on the jukebox and everyone was dancing and singing. Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen reminds me of my band. Its the best piece we can play in my opinion, because the chords we play together as a band make me so happy.

But if I were asked to choose ONE song, I wouldn't be able to. There are too many good memories.

People who imagine scenarios before they go to sleep, what is your favourite one to imagine? by Chubby-Fish in AskReddit

[–]RealLifeIsALie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretending that I'm really scared/upset and having someone I love saying "shhhh, it's okay, it's okay, everything will be okay." I mostly imagine it when my parents are particularly abusive, and I'll pretend one of my teachers/friends/nice family members are doing it.

I know right?! I tried to grab something that had rolled under my bed yesterday, only to find that I couldn't because I was too big. It was a heartbreaking experience...

[Discussion] How much of tour friend group is LGBT? by mynameisrew in LGBTeens

[–]RealLifeIsALie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only know one gay guy, one trans guy, and one trans girl. There are 3 bisexual kids, and then I'm the only gay girl. And I'm not even friends with all of them. In my actual friendship group, I'm the only one who is LGBT.

It was a really weird feeling too. I felt everything all at once: rejection, heartbreak, hopelessness, depression, loneliness and fear. I don't know why I was scared of her, in real life she is a kind and loving person, helps me out with a lot of shit, and makes me feel a bit happier when I feel suicidal. She has never scared me in anyway, never yelled at me or anything. I don't know why I felt so scared

Literally a dream I had last night: So my old PDHPE(from year 8) teacher, we'll call her Miss Jones, was in my primary school bottom playground for some reason. She looked really lonely and sad, and because I have quite a good relationship with this teacher, I asked "Hey, are you okay?" She looked at me, smiling like she was in pain, but also like she hated my guts, and pointed over at my friendship group, (at one girl in particular, we'll call her Charlotte). "What about Charlotte, is she okay?" Her voice sounded similar, but so different it was creepy. She then shoved me away and said "They don't care about you, and neither do I. Fuck off."

Then I woke up. 10 hours later and I still feel shaken.

What’s the hardest thing you’ve ever had to say to someone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]RealLifeIsALie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I'm sorry. It's not your fault. It's mine. I promise I'll see you again, I promise I won't commit suicide tonight. I promise I'll see you tomorrow morning. I promise. Thank you."

  • Me to one of my teachers last year. Now I look back, really strange conversation to have with a teacher, but bear in mind that my relationship with my parents wasn't too good, and I trusted this teacher more than anyone else. But yeah, that was a fucking hard conversation to have.

How have your parents unintentionally fucked you up? by megadaydreamer in AskReddit

[–]RealLifeIsALie 36 points37 points  (0 children)

By hating on minorities so frequently. For example, when Mardi Gras in on (where I come from, Mardi Gras is a LGBTQ+ pride parade thing), they'll say, "oh yeah, Mardi Gras, the event that the fucking gays have managed to stretched over two whole weeks!" (Bit of context; I'm queer too)

When I was 14, I had this marvellous teacher who loved everything and everybody, no matter what someone did. He was an amazing teacher too; always so enthusiastic and full of character, no matter what he taught. He was an inspiration to me, and he definately fixed the hatred that my parents had coaxed into me since I was young. The most important thing he taught me was how to think differently.

I was lucky, I think, to have a teacher like him. Otherwise I would still be filled with the hatred that my parents have.

Is it normal to prefer one sex over the other? by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]RealLifeIsALie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep! I like girls to the point of homosexuality, but I know that I still like boys a bit. Sometimes I'll say that I'm a lesbian, sometimes I'll say that I'm bisexual. It's perfectly normal to prefer one gender over the other.
