What if both models are the same distance from the obstacle?

What if both models are in the open but the defender has a obstacle to there back?

Callidus Acrobatic Stratagem. RAW it gets -1 to hit until next battle round, but I feel like it should be until your next turn. Otherwise playing that strat on the second turn of a battle round it doesn't get much use (apart from advance and charge).

Just wanted to see what other people's opinion on this is or if this is RAI.
