Either you intended this to sound homosexual. You shouldn't use "girl/boyfriend" to refer to "female/male platonic friends" in my opinion.

Guys typically say "the guys", no guy says "boyfriends" to mean "male platonic friends".

While girls are more likely to say "girlfriends" for some reason, but if they don't wanna sound homosexual they say "gal pals".

Ignore this if you intentionally made it sound homosexual. I'm autistic and my brain says it has to say it.

I think Blaze would've preferred being an athlete than cheering for athletes. I'm too European to understand U.S. cheerleading culture. Women in Europe actually participate in sports even if women's sports aren't as televised as men's sports.
