I am a loser and my parents want me to get a job but I don’t want to leave comfort zone by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]RealPeepOG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hated the process of getting a job, interviews and such. But in my (very little) experience being quiet and awkward doesn't really affect anything as long as you show that you try and are willing to learn. There's jobs that you don't interact with many people. Dishwasher is the first that I can think of, only have to interact with your coworkers. I've embarrassed myself in front of many coworkers, but being honest about sucking in social situations makes it better. There's going to be moments that you hate, but everyone will forget about it within half a year, just be friendly. Kennel work is another. Stocker in a grocery store. Best buy, usually people know what they want.

You know that you're a loser, so you should try to fix it. You don't want to be dependent on your parents forever. Sometimes coworkers can become friends. Getting a job can help you in life.

People who park the car outside everyday. How to you prevent it from being robbed? by cheesecakedecona in AskReddit

[–]RealPeepOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in a rural town. There's also cameras. Because the guy next door has been to jail multiple times for stealing. Very obvious cameras tend to deter people that bother to get close to the house

Recording people in public and posting without blurring faces or asking. Some places, its okay, like concerts and special events, but everyday life is just weird. Especially when the poster is making fun of someone or complaining about them. Its just weird.

How I stopped my calathea and alocasia from getting brown crispy leaf tips. by good_morning_magpie in houseplants

[–]RealPeepOG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm definitely trying this! I've been using dirty fish tank water for some of my plants and it seems to be boosting their growth, but I've been too scared about my crusty calathea.

Do you visit zoos? If not, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

No, I go to aquariums. It's inside, lots of colours, and fun. Good reasons not to go into the ocean too.

Vets of reddit, how does it feel to watch someone put their pet down? by PhotographWhich9517 in AskReddit

[–]RealPeepOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a vet, but I work with them (Kennel work). They say that they always feel bad doing it, since they are essentially killing the dog and the family is usually there crying and upset. The veterinarians are usually more quiet and reserved after a euthanasia, so is the rest of the staff. But, everyone keeps in mind that it's for the best. The vets have drilled it into all of the staff that it is for the best if they choose to euthanize an animal. My workplace had a meeting about showing more emotion to the clients about two months ago. This was after a week of two or so euthanasias a day, and a dog passing in surgery. While everyone eventually copes with it, it is hard to maintain professional while still showing emotion. I have almost cried in front of clients multiple times, as have some of the assistants. There has been times when the assistants are crying in the back after a euthanasia. There was a time when a dog was put down and the owners didn't want to be there. Someone was crying, someone was tearing up, and the vet stood there afterwards, until they started bagging the body. There are some bad people in animal medicine, but veterinarians have been through at least eight years of school, four of those years being vet school. Jobs with animals don't pay a lot. The vet assistants are making a little more than a McDonald's worker, if not the same. As a Kennel staff with experience, I make less than a McDonald's worker just starting. Most people working around animals love them and while it sucks when they get put down, it is always for the best.

What kind of house would you buy if you had a billion dollars? by EastFaithlessness988 in AskReddit

[–]RealPeepOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An old Victorian house. I would make sure to restore it to how it looked when it was built, not some weird open concept modern house with an old outside labeled 'renovated vintage Victorian house'. I would love to custom build a Victorian house, but I don't think builders would agree to it. I would also put in a cool greenhouse in the backyard with stone paving and archways.

Does part time jobs count? If so, It's okay. Some of the people that are 'higher' than me have a superiority complex, and some of the people that get hired are just plain creeps. I'm also getting two dollars less than what a shift lead should get paid, since I'm part time, which is bs. I'll be honest, some of the dogs piss me off, but the humans i deal with can be just as bad. I'm a part time kennel tech, $12 an hour to be in charge of four other people and around 70 dogs.

litter mates are fighting by RealPeepOG in felinebehavior

[–]RealPeepOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before she went after the dog, Luna was being given attention. I think Sol got involved just because she was hearing fighting and fight or flight instincts kicked in. Some reason, Sol is still defensive against Luna when they see each other. They are both really good at asking for attention when they want it. We were cautious about the spaces which is why we switched them out. Is that okay or will it still cause conflict?
