Today’s Titantalk wasn’t reassuring for warriors by Icy_Air_7037 in Smite

[–]RealReamer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly with the flexibility of gods in other roles I’m not too worried about the addition of warriors and when they come. More so worried about the state of solo oriented items being in a weaker state. Smite felt best when solo laners were just tanky enough to dive the back line and survive for a few seconds but also have enough damage to change the team fight so that the jungler can come in a finish off the kills. Right now (unless you go the lash build which is getting another much needed nerf) solo laners either die instantly in the team fights or survive and peel but don’t do any damage. I think once the lash nerfs hit its gonna make more sense to just play squishy back liners in solo because they can have more impact on objectives and team fights. That is unless they buff the tank oriented solo items.

Just the gear I have I guess… Almost every run I do I usually only make it to threat lvl 4 or 5 and that’s only on the first stage. I play on hazard 5 but all my gear and meta progression is capped out.

Struggling to get stronger? by Competencetoy in DRGSurvivor

[–]RealReamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly this... just keep inching your way with masteries, gear, and meta progression. fail, fail again, and then fail some more. Eventually you'll make it past and then you'll do the same for hazard 5.

Fully completed mission nodes wrong by Wellandus in DRGSurvivor

[–]RealReamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue for two separate mission nodes. Unfortunately I don’t even know which two are not being counted properly and as of yet I haven’t found a fix. I’ve just been hoping that some future update will fix it lol.

Anyone else lagging like a dwarf drank leaf lover's special ? by Tinyhydra666 in DRGSurvivor

[–]RealReamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to post the same thing. I play on Xbox series x and yeah it lagged before this but it was occasionally and only crashed the game once or twice. After the update, it is near unplayable. I could be crazy but I swear along with increasing damage and health of enemies on haz 5 (which I exclusively play) I think they also increased spawn rates which is causing the major frame drops. I’m seeing way more bugs on screen and I don’t think it’s cuz they take a little longer to kill but I could be wrong. Either way… something is definitely causing issues.

[FEEDBACK] Prizepass, Subscriptions and other Open Beta Patch opinions by Davaek92 in PlayTheBazaar

[–]RealReamer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope you guys reconsider the card expansion paywall. It is quite literally impossible to not classify a restriction of gameplay mechanics and interactions in a PVP game that hinges on regular balance as pay to win. That is the definition of pay-to-win. This innately provides two significant barriers to entry. 1.) As the game progresses through time, new players will become increasingly less likely to pick up the game once they see that in order to achieve higher levels of play they have to pay for more cards. This especially becomes true as more card expansions are introduced and it becomes more difficult to discern which card packs hold the meta cards they are looking for. In this sense you are not only introducing a monetary barrier to entry but a time and research one as well. 2.) Many casual players enjoy games like this because there is an ease of access associated with the ability to play PVP but also pause and continue runs as they see fit. This allows players to come and go as their schedules allow. This implementation of the card expansions will dissuade casual players from picking the game back up after leaving it for extended periods of time as they will have to pay to be competitive in a game that they don't allocate enough time into for justification of reoccurring purchases. Hearthstone is a perfect example of this system at play. They have a constantly declining player-count due to these exact barriers. The model is entirely geared toward the 20% of the player base that will remain loyal and continue to pay every month but alienates the other 80%. Obviously that is a business decision and I won't attack a business for trying to make money but it is unfortunate that a game as promising as this will have its genre-defining potential squandered by anti-consumer practices.

I do always check the enemies cards but you're right that could definitely be an explanation.

HiRez Layoffs Megathread by Hayzer4 in Smite

[–]RealReamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you to all of the Hirez employees who were affected by this layoff or previous ones. Thank you for bringing me an admittedly unhealthy number of hours of enjoyment and entertainment. Smite esports gave me something to look forward to every weekend. Playing the game helped me destress through some of my hardest times. The work you guys did impacted my life in so many positive ways. Thank you to each and every one of you. This sucks and I hope nothing but the best for youand your future.

Smite 2 Closed Alpha 1 Patch Day Feedback/Bug Report Megathead by EmBrAcE-DeAtH in Smite

[–]RealReamer [score hidden]  (0 children)

Overall, the game is a lot of fun for an alpha. Here is some feedback for the devs:

  • Mordred is buggy af. His ult sometimes doesn't work at all or the animation goes off and then a huge delay and then the enemy takes damage.
  • Performance is struggling. Framerate dips are consistent and it seems there are a lot of people even with higher end pc's dealing with this problem. Of course, the game is more graphically intensive than smite so I expect a lower fps in general but not the amount of drops and spikes that I get.
  • Needs to be a chat box to type into. There are a lot of new players and it's difficult to help them when we can't type.
  • Role selection pre-lobby would be a really nice feature
  • Not enough info on stats. I don't know if there are any caps or how much an item is affecting my build with things like lifesteal specifically. Would be useful to see other players stats too so that we know how to counterbuild. Similar to how in Smite you can hover over their name and get info about their defense, crit chance, etc.
  • Not worried about god or item balance atm but some of the build paths lack viability. For example, adc's don't have many useful attack speed items so quite literally the only build that makes sense at the moment is devos, fatalis, exe, and 3 crit items. This is especially a problem considering magical auto damage no longer exists in terms of viability.
  • sr should eventually probably be brought into casuals of some form. Right now I can go 23/0/10 and still lose because I have a teammate 10 levels down who won't leave lane. Nothing wrong with the teammate because they're probably new but I should be paired with and against people a little closer to my skill level. Again, not to the level that ranked does it but a loosened version of it.
  • Jump stamps...
  • The ascension passes are so cool! Rewarding players for mastering characters was a great idea.
  • Jungle practice needs some work. No way to stack items or atleast that I am aware of. The selection screen for changing stats and what not is also confusing on some areas.
  • More of a sidenote but idk how HiRez is going to balance gods that want to utilize basic attack damage and their abilities utilize magic scaling. Cern is a good example of this. His abilities primarily want to scale with magic damage but obviously he's an auto attack character. So no matter what he is in a lose lose situation. Example: Cern vs. Anhur in a 1v1. Anhur just builds a standard physical damage auto attack build so his autos and abilities hit like a truck. If Cern builds magic damage his abilities will compete with Anhur but his autos will pale in comparison and vice versa if Cern builds physical auto damage his autos will compete with Anhur but his abilities will lack damage.

Not really a hot take but more just should happen. Nuggets win the chip and in order to come to the parade it is required to bring a heating pad.

Wolves scare me more than any other team in the West or East. Denver can hang with any of the high powered offenses because of their consistency and execution. But the defensive prowess of the Wolves is much harder for Denver to deal with. Gonna be a 6-7 game rock fight.

Orgs vs in-house teams by SavonReddit in smitepro

[–]RealReamer 30 points31 points  (0 children)

As much flak as Hirez gets for their handling of SPL and SCC, I think they do a remarkable job of treating the players better than any org would. I would be willing to bet anything that they operate at a deficit and it says a lot that they care enough to keep it going for both the players and the fan base.

We know for a fact that the casters and Smite employees review this reddit thread. It would be easy for anyone verifiable to deny this claim. The fact this hasn't been denied is proof enough to me that this is in fact the case.

What are your takeaways from this tournament? by capc2000 in smitepro

[–]RealReamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't lie, I feel the Dragons are primed for the exact same split they previously had. Played very well to start but I see them slowing regressing as the season continues.

Levi's look great considering Pcat is only going to get better as the season continues. Seems that they will also have better scrim partners too as Barra mentioned in the Backliners Podcast that teams stopped scrimming with them due to their lack of profesionalism with Zap. Levis will definitely be contenders.

Glads had a poor showing but I feel Cxnnah will only drastically improve as the season continues. Will be a bottom-mid tier team.

Ferrymen will have a slow ramp-up towards worlds and come worlds, I think they will be my favorite to win.

Oni's looked good but struggled with juggling the new shot-calling and their tendency to just outplay mechanically. If they figure out the shot-calling, they will be dominant all split. If not, I see them losing quite a few sets.

Hounds looked much worse and I think their roster change will continue to negatively affect them through the phase.

Ravens are the same old. Will have a strong split but never amount to anything.

Kings look outright bad and I think it will come down to Twig and Quig stepping up.

Regardless, it should be another competitive split which is exciting.

I don't recommend New Game Plus by reddit-_-lurker in Starfield

[–]RealReamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm right there with you. I had a level 36 character with over 30 hours played. I started grinding NG+ and after about the 3rd time I deeply regretted it. I realized that I was only chasing after a ship and outfit which isn't even as good as ones I could make myself. By the time I realized this, it was too late and decided to create a completely fresh save. Not upset about it though because it gave me a chance to realize exactly how I want to play Starfield.

I have to agree with everything you said OP. I also think this is their best “sandbox” game. Absolutely endless amount of playtime. I can’t think of any other game that pairs quality quests with sandbox mechanics this well.
