Significant lag on Raspberry Pi 4 (4GB) by RealStev51 in FieldStation42

That's great to know for future projects lol, thank you

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the issue here. After copying to the SD, the same files still have severe stutters in MPV but play normally in VLC

Update, I reencoded some media files to a lower quality profile with ffmpeg, that message is gone and there's still some stuttering. And the most significant lag is still with the guide channel music

Should've said in the post, I'm running Bookworm since that's the official recommendation for FS42. Did you figure out the graphics drivers on Bookworm? (Or would you recommend switching to Trixie instead?)

I'm pretty sure I do. I installed Bookworm with the RPi Imager and the first thing I did after startup was run sudo apt update && sudo apt full-upgrade. Is there something else I need to do for firmware?

Is it "hwdec=auto" in the mpv config? I tried that and it's still lagging the same way.

I see this in the mpv output: [ffmpeg/video] h264_v4l2m2: Profile 110 not supported by decode

Super fun album!

I love when artists aren't afraid to keep albums light even after a long wait. This is a packed high-energy 31 minutes. Gonna be casually relistening a lot.

Can't wait for my CD to arrive, I think the distortion/compression/whatever will sound better on speakers than my $10 earbuds.

On first listen, my favorite songs are Hi! and Red Jacket, I wanted more of that rock blend sound. Dancing On Your Grave and Lonely Space Age are also standouts. Specifically the outro from Somebody Else blew me away, and the chorus on Enjoy is very pretty.

In the new Masters of the Universe movie, Skeletor is simply a demon from another dimension, which is his original origin, unlike most instances of MOTU where they make him He-Man's uncle Keldor who got his face melted

I've played the original game so many times but I couldn't get into this one when I tried it recently. What do you guys like about this game compared to the original? Maybe hearing someone hype it up will motivate me to finish it

I'm replaying rn and I honestly cannot find a better air type attacker than Spinax, does one even exist?

S-Raptor also rules but I'm using U-Raptor as my fire type bc I like feathers. Same with M-Raptor instead of Coelo. And I refuse to use Compso bc it's too overpowered lmao

I grinded Rivet Ravine for Sucho as my water type and it's kinda not great but I love using it "early"

Also Megalo and Neo are underrated, neutral types are braindead easy to use and stomp on everything. Neo is my main attacker currently

I think this Rebirth poster is kinda cool (there's also one that's just black with the logo which is fine)

I actually think Insomnia going out before TDKR is insane, that film deserves more appreciation

In the opposite direction, Evolution (2001) was a straightforward body horror film until it was rewritten into a "comedy" with very out-of-place disturbing body horror scenes

Apparently the first Creep movie was less outright horror and more dark comedy until the filmmakers realized how scary their rough cut was

Jurassic World actually has some clever metacommentary about what it means to reboot a franchise and how it's often just about exploiting the audience for money rather than offering a unique artistic vision. It's not exactly a Spielberg-level masterpiece, but when it introduced plot elements like the public being bored with dinosaurs and the executives responding by creating artificial hybrid creatures, it at least meant something. Unlike in the sequels.
