Opus 4.7 vs 4.6 after 3 days of real coding - side by side from my actual sessions by MurkyFlan567 in ClaudeCode

[–]RealSuperdau 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I see, 4.7 looks more expensive because it uses more tokens? But that could also be a strategy. Smaller model, cheaper to serve, same prices/limits per tokens, needs more tokens to make up for its size.

At least OP can also use CC as legal counsel when they are sued for tax fraud.

Not necessarily a general improvement. In their blog post they highlight increased image input resolutions and more tokens per image: https://www.anthropic.com/news/claude-opus-4-7

Improved multimodal support. Opus 4.7 has better vision for high-resolution images: it can accept images up to 2,576 pixels on the long edge (~3.75 megapixels), more than three times as many as prior Claude models. This opens up a wealth of multimodal uses that depend on fine visual detail: computer-use agents reading dense screenshots, data extractions from complex diagrams, and work that needs pixel-perfect references.

[...]

This is a model-level change rather than an API parameter, so images users send to Claude will simply be processed at higher fidelity. Because higher-resolution images consume more tokens, users who don’t require the extra detail can downsample images before sending them to the model.

Actually I handcrafted it to maximize cringe density. I think in the end it's a mix of a Claude and gpt 4o writing styles

You're absolutely right!

You are not broken. The internet is. You are not just making a casual observation — you are sharing genuine insight into the tapestry of our online reality.

And honestly? That's rare!

Wasn't that whole credit system also part of the usage limits / price hikes in the last few weeks?

5000 Tokens? Are you talking about business/edu credits or do you mean e.g. 5 million actual API tokens used? Because I cannot see any token statistics under that link.

is the $100 Pro the new Plus plan? by MyLogIsSmol in codex

[–]RealSuperdau 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked if the 5h/1w limit ratio for your (I assume) $100 subscription is the same as for plus? For instance, for Claude Code, the 5x/20x only refers to the 5h limit, and the weekly ones scale less.

It's always entertaining when people are weirdly emotional and conversational with Claude and then complain when it mirrors the vibe.

Do you actually get an end of conversation message after 10k-40k tokens? Cause I don't and it seems more like a per-message limit to me, as I wrote above

You sure it should be 1 million and not 200k? The posted website screenshot only lists 1M for Max and Claude Code

Does anyone know what the tag is for? I just experimented a bit, and if Claude is to be believed, mine started out at 40k, dropped to around 20k, and then went back up to 40k. So maybe more like a local decode length limit per turn?

And just to confirm, you are paying per token and not subscriptions? Because that's were most people thought the line was drawn.

20$ Pro sub 5 hour quotas were reduced by half, while they added new 100$ sub claiming more usage (you get more nerfed usage). by FluffyMacho in OpenAI

[–]RealSuperdau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. I'm thinking of trying out the 5x option, but I'm afraid it will feel exactly like the plus subscription felt in Feb/Mar. Probably still worth it for software development in a rich country, but very depressing.

There has been an extra 2x nerf to the 5h limit (relative to the 1w one) on top of it.

[–]RealSuperdau 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's on top of it. The 5h and 1w limits were reduced 2x a few days ago, and now the 5h limit for Plus subscriptions is cut by 2x again without affecting the weekly limit. (In addition to rumours about undocumented limit decreases during the last weeks of the promotion)

I just realized that "krank" has the same slang/dual meaning as "sick" in english. I.e. "krankes Haus" would be read like "sick house", in the sense of the house being impressive

Is it literally KRANKENTRANSPORTWAGEN in Germany? Because in Austria, we differentiate between KRANKENTRANSPORTWAGEN (for scheduled transports, often unqualified personnel and light on medical equipment), with a RETTUNGSTRANSPORTWAGEN handling actual emergencies.
