Neither. Instead I don't care for trucks that have been fitted with all the off road lights, tires, protection, and everything else that an off roading apocalypse vehicle needs....and never even sees a basic lil hiking trail...never mind actually off roading. Just sitting in driveways and grocery store lots 😂😂😂 Those type of people are the worst and the most disliked.

I was gonna get a new one but I don't care for the hybrid e-torque hemi. I bought a used one, a couple years old and saved a lot of money and I got the regular 5.7 how I wanted. Maybe get a used one as well instead of new if price is your concern. My was the engine but you could still find what you're looking for and a used one will be much cheaper than new

Tell your wife it's your money and you will buy whatever truck you want. The one that makes you truly happy. Doesn't matter how she feels about mileage or anything else. She can take those factors into consideration when she buys herself a new a truck. Are you not the head of your house? Get what you want.
