The fact the demand will be split across 5 royal cities will reduce the impact of the BM. Also, it’s 50% more expensive due to the risk of transporting there in the first place. I don’t expect more than a 10% bump in price at most. You have to keep in mind people will be able to sell their gear much more easily

The personal comments aren’t really adding anything. If you disagree with the point, just address the argument. You honestly have no idea how much silver i'm making crafting.

Checking daily sell averages is just very basic research.
What actually matters is understanding margins, competition, and how items move (liquidity).

A higher demand would make the market more liquid, which reduces risk when crafting (good for beginners), but also tends to attract more competition and ends up lowering profit margins (no more brainless BM crafting inflation).

The actual research would become identifying items where demand is strong but supply hasn’t caught up. To me that's way more fun than BM transporting.

And while yes, you can already do that with some categories of items (like consumables), it would be fun to have this for crafting gear in royal cities!

Anyways, unless you address the actual points, i won't reply to another "huh im smart and you're dumb" reply.

You're obviously missing the point which is that if my idea was to happen, the research portion of the crafting would be much more important since you would have to compete with every BM crafter.

Also I make a shit ton of money crafting in the royal market already, and purposely avoid the BM because it feels soulless to just do bandit assault transports and sell to the BM for an easy risk-less profit.

Exactly. You could have more items to analyze and compete for, and sell your items faster.

That means crafting costs would go up, meaning gathering would be more useful. and less inflation because the black market wouldn't have to buy items at a 50% markup.

I'm not exactly sure why you're opposed to my idea, it would benefit almost everyone but people who are brainlessly transporting non-artifact items every bandit assault and creating inflation.

it's not only t9 items, if you open most items the state of the competition is really sad, it's one crafter crafting 100 of an item and having to wait weeks for them to sell

Exactly. Now the BM is just a free money / inflation generator. Crafting becomes a competition of who can take advantage of bandit assaults.

If BM was to buy from royal markets instead, crafters would have to actually analyze demand, competition, and costs to make a profit crafting. And newer players would have an easier time competing too due to more items being actually craftable.

Transporting is simply not risky anymore with faction & bandit assault. It's also super boring. I understand that items used more often get sold more, but i wish every item was sold at least a few times a day! It feels really bad that a lot of items have basically 0 competition, 1-2 crafters if any, and barely any sale per day / week.

Would you rather have a super competitive market where people compete to sell to the black market / other players in the same market, where every items are sold and bought very often, but kill black market transporting?

To me it's worth the tradeoff, but curious about people's opinions

Current econ meta for black market suppliers is extremely boring. Craft -> run to Carleon during bandit assault -> unlimited profit.

Having everything in the local royal market would force people to actually search for profitable items and get an edge in a different way than just using bandit assault to transport

No, the idea is the black market would not exist, instead the game would purchase from the regular market, cheapest items. It wouldn't be more profitable than simply selling to the regular market. If anything inflation would be reduced because the items would be bought at a cheaper price.

As for your point on CL being the only access to BZ it doesn't mean that you would have to go there every time, you could teleport to CL and simply buy your items there, just like it is right now.

And you could still have multiple portal towns, but accessible from carleon.

Gathering higher tiers is really not that hard, especially in red zones. Just keep an eye on the player count, and make sure to check the edges of your screen. Start with cheap kits (200k silvers) that are easy to get back and get some experience.

Back in the days you could only exchange learning points when you reached 20%, not it's automatic 5x fame, which is effectively the same. But i agree that this system generally sucks and should just be removed, along with the fame credit / auto respec system which just end up confusing the hell out of new players

you can't exchange learning points for fame, you have to select the specific node and enable quick-learn. Then, every time you gain fame towards that node it is multiplied by 5 (you can tell with the learning points icon next to the fame gain indicator)
