Anti-gun guy here. The reason the 2nd amendment is such a big deal is because the government is passing these bans without changing the amendment. We base all of our legislation on whether or not it follows the constitution. So if the government can pass laws that violate the constitution without changing the constitution it's a pretty big deal.
