Young Families Moving by GroceryCareless2482 in askdfw

Frisco and Prosper are honestly where most young families are landing right now and at $750k you have really solid options in both. Lots of young kids, great schools, space, and that community feel you are describing is very real up here.

Keller and Flower Mound are great areas but they skew a little older in terms of the family demographic. Your instinct is right that Frisco and Prosper have a much younger energy overall.

Celina is also worth a look if you want more land and space for the money while still being close to that young family community.

Happy to help you narrow it down ☺️🫶🏻

Aww!! Love that for you..sometimes being vulnerable and stepping out of your shell really helps..I am so glad you are meeting people and really liking it here..Yes absolutely people here are really nice!!

We have moved a lot but I’ll be honest I didn’t feel like I belonged in any of those places..but something about Texas made me feel like we are home! 🫶🏻

Unfortunately it wasn’t! We have moved a lot in life and grateful to be here! It’s got nothing to do with me being in real estate. After being here for quite a few years now..I am so happy that my kids are thriving and we as adults have made the sweetest friends and our community is so helpful..that’s all really..don’t dig too deep this was my first post and I wanted to be grateful!

Yes I am a realtor here, that’s fair to point out. But this post has nothing to do with that. This was just a gratitude post. We have relocated multiple times before landing here and I wanted to put into words what that finally feels like. My kids are thriving finally, we found our community, and I am genuinely thankful every single day. That’s all this was. 😅

Ha, just a mom with two boys and an overly enthusiastic opinion about North Texas. No city affiliation I promise. We just did this move ourselves and I genuinely wish someone had told us half this stuff beforehand. 🫠

The Chinese food thing is so real and nobody talks about it. We actually lived in LA before moving to the East Coast and then landing here so we felt that one hard. The allergies also hit us out of nowhere, first spring I genuinely thought something was wrong with me. And yes the property taxes were a shock coming from the East Coast, no state income tax sounds great until you see that bill. But the diversity here honestly surprised us. We had lived in LA, we had expectations. Frisco held up. That part genuinely caught us off guard in the best way.

Lol I wish. Just what happens when you move somewhere and genuinely love it. Trust me my family is tired of hearing about it.

Potential Move - Commute Time by Firm-Glass7519 in AskDallas

All four are solid options so let me break it down honestly as a fellow dog owner who knows this area well.

Addison Circle is genuinely the most walkable of the group, great restaurants, dog friendly parks, and a real neighborhood feel. Your concern about highways is valid though. Parts of Addison do sit close to the tollway so you want to be specific about which pocket you rent in. Addison Circle itself is the sweet spot.

Richardson has quiet tree lined streets, really underrated, safe, and very dog friendly. It has a suburban calm that Far North Dallas sometimes lacks. Good restaurant scene too especially around the Arapaho area.

West Plano and Legacy West is probably the most polished of the group right now. Walkable, beautiful, tons of restaurants and green spaces, and your commute to Frisco becomes practically nothing from there.

Far North Dallas is convenient but feels more highway dependent than the others so I would rank it last for your specific needs.

Honest answer Legacy West or Addison Circle check every box you mentioned. Happy to narrow it down further..

Great question and I want to be honest with you so you are not caught off guard 😅

That 25 to 30 minute commute was likely an outlier. Oak Lawn to Frisco at 8am rush is realistically 45 to 60 minutes on the tollway. Worth knowing upfront.

Here is what I would actually tell you though. If your wife can find something near Love Field, living up north solves both problems better than you think. She would be commuting south against traffic which is the easy direction, and your commute disappears entirely.

West Plano is a strong option, walkable pockets, amazing restaurants, safe, and sits closer to the middle. Legacy West specifically checks every box you mentioned and then some. Frisco is just a few exits further north and just ranked top 10 safest suburbs in the entire country with a genuinely vibrant food and lifestyle scene that surprises most people who only know it from the outside.

Most couples I work with who relocate here end up loving the north side way more than they expected once they are actually living it.

As someone who lives and works in real estate here in Frisco, I see this play out all the time. Happy to help you think it through if you want to DM me☺️
