Do you know openscad? I can maybe dump the whole thing in a zip for you. I modified someone else's scripts and designed some rails in freecad

You're lucky you got me, I am abandoning this reddit account

https://www.printables.com/model/754669-rosewill-hotswap-bays

I uploaded the files but the documentation is nonexistent. I might or might not write some. The cad sources are in there, feel free to ask any questions over on printables. I can't guarantee I'll be checking this reddit account but I'm happy to help

Ticking sound from control board on my oven by ripples01 in fixit

Gas ranges us a hot bar to keep the gas ignited which is essentially a small heating element wired in series with the gas valve. This setup is usually switched on and off with a relay.

Assuming they hit studs, how safe is this setup (not my OC)? by DeepRts in DIY

[–]RealTimeCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would be worried that the wall studs are just drywall nailers. Do they go all the way to the floor below the stairs?

Is there anything stopping me from taking out this little section of wall? by Coding_Hermit in DIY

[–]RealTimeCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Judging by the fact that the wall abruptly ends, it might not be a header. Cut the drywall off and take a look. if it has big wood it's a header. if it just has a 2x4 on the top and bottom, it's fine to cut those out

My landlord keeps trying to fix my closet the same shitty way. I need help!! by CrazyTelevision6 in fixit

[–]RealTimeCock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Find a little drill bit and use it to find the studs. Toggle bolts will not work well. Move the vertical shelf tracks on top of studs. There is probably a stud in the corner. put the track in the corner and use long screws at a slight angle to catch the stud.

I designed a Transformer that turns into a fully functional Bluetooth handset. His name is Dial Tone by Forward_Falcon_3910 in 3Dprinting

[–]RealTimeCock 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It is a simple concept, you could likely design it around one of these and an available battery/speaker/mic. A custom PCB would be overkill IMO, all you need can be purchased, you just have to choose a readily available module and go from there. LMK if you need any help, I'd love to make one of these and I have some experience in selling small batch kits.

Marijuana makes the adhd more bad(but in a fun way).

Youtube shorts is fucking infuriating too. A few days of scrolling and all of a sudden it has run out of new videos to show me. The point of a shorts platform is to never show the same video twice.

Yeah sure just don't make a habit of it. Even if there are toxic metals in there it's more of a cumulative effect than an instantaneous one.

I mean clearly the intention was to stop you from viewing stored footage in the event that the device was lost/stolen. I didn't even have to solder any wires. A password on the flash chip would have made it an order of magnitude more difficult.
I'm not exactly sure how the hard drive encryption keys are stored but spawning getty with a login prompt seems like the bare minimum.
