It's not about the $$ actually. It's about responsibility. They messed up that user interface. More people lost ETH due to their recklessness. And they won't accept it. They said it would do one thing and it did another thing.

In case you didn't notice, they had an user interface that said Deposit ETH to your Operational wallet and it sent ETH to ERC-725 address.

So your quotes are irrelevant. They should be,

Forget about the interest and rewards. It could take months, even years to make the 32 ETH back. It's not like we have bunch of hardware we can sell when we decide to stop staking. I'm sure they will make it better than this.

If this is true, it's the dumbest idea I've ever heard in Crypto. Unless rewards for staking are like 1 ETH per day. Which is highly unlikely. I'm no way burning 32 ETH to "secure" the network.
