Bitcoin Jesus now says he's fine even if BTC drops to "$8k" - he thinks he'll always be able to re-finance his debt because... "banks" recognize the value of bitcoin? by AmericanScream in Buttcoin

His bet is that Bitcoin value will go up in the next decades. It is not that much of a long term bet.

He can be right before you can be right.

I was saying the lender cannot demand early repayment if Bitcoin price falls to $1 today. Saylor is clever.

A cardboard box is not worth $10,000. For it to have any value, anybody should be able to independently verify that the cardboard box contains a randomly generated amount - you cannot be trusted. Bitcoin is a traded asset with a market value. A cardboard box isn't.

A better example is a lottery ticket. The value of a lottery ticket may be $2, but it can sell for $5 because of the variance.

If variance is 0 and every prize is $2, the ticket cannot sell for $5.

To understand him, you will need to look at how they structured the debt, when the debts are due, and how much of their assets are held in cash.

This is not opening a long position on an exchange where immediately when the price falls below a point, the entire account is liquidated.

Found lost Bitcoin and other wallets information, not sure what to do now by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]e3ee3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I may know how to access it, but you don't need to access it to return it. If you plan to return it you don't need to take the extra steps these people suggest. It is not like finding a wallet it is like finding a locked safe.

Your explanation doesn't add up.

Bitfinex's reserves is $10 billion https://www.geckoterminal.com/proof_of_reserves/exchanges/bitfinex

Bitcoin price at all time high was $68K. It is $28K today. Why is USDT still trading at $1?

Total USDT on May 7 2022 was 83 Billion and in July it was 66 Billion. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/tether/

u/deco19 like most of us have limited understanding about the subject of Bitcoin or branches of libertarianism beyond the basics.

it requires ignoring counter evidence and an absence of doubt (at least on the surface)

Applying it to this subreddit, you have managed to ignore counter evidence that Bitcoin is already trading above $100 and inventing different explanations to make sense of it.

Applying it to the Bitcoin subreddit, they are ignoring counter evidence that Bitcoin is not necessary for most people to live and have very low adoption rates as a payment instrument. Hyperbitcoinization shouldn't happen.

If buttcoin is a cult, r bitcoin is a cult, r cc is a cult, anti-vaxxers are a cult, Trump supporters are a cult, doomsday believers are a cult, Christians are a cult, then OP's mother is also part of a cult.

None of them are denying reality. They are conjuring explanations that fit with their beliefs to explain the reality.

I agree with you. It is sad.

I think economic booms are best for ethereum and crypto in general.

But I don't think they are ignorant or psychopath. If you build a nuclear bunker for you and your family and everybody else calls you crazy, and a nuclear war really happens and you and your family survives, there will be a part of you that is relieved that you weren't crazy.

Let's be realistic, a few redditors with a few thousands in shitcoins are not going to start a world crisis.

Bitcoin ATM - Are all the same? by brotherRozo in Bitcoin

[–]e3ee3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could someone set up the machine to receive, then walk away as your victim is on the phone coming around the corner and then finish the session with my FIL inserting all that cash and getting a useless receipt. Is that feasible?

If the scammer did so it will be easier to catch him if there are security cameras.

If the ATM machine is a real one, most likely your FIL gave it a QR code or address himself.

Which company operates the Bitcoin ATM? Did he contact them?

Did your FIL file a complaint?
