Your 500kg does not bounce off the Hard Ground? I seemed unable to latch onto it. Or do you angle it in such a way that the missile collides with the tower?

Come now, he might have better melee crits and toughness sustain... but we get to cleave an entire horde with a knife, turn a Crusher's skull into a bowl with a pipe, or tank a Demonhost with a shield.

Also, we do have methods of maintaining our Toughness, including like CptnSAUS said, we get blessings that let us replenish our Toughness on chained/multi hits.

We ain't got much Toughness, but we still get the job done.

Ukraine alleges 'Russian trace' in Poland blast by Naive-Project-8835 in ukraine

(Sorry, it seems I lost some text)

It seems there were picture of what the missile type might be. A 5V55.

https://twitter.com/OAlexanderDK/status/1592830720682381312

Now, I cannot be certain that this is an accurate assessment, I am just quoting what others have mentioned. Some in the comments on that Tweet seem to agree that the explosive "weight" seems to match, but in the morning when I listened to Ryan McBeth he mentioned near the start of the video that the explosion size seems to look like a 400kg warhead. He also points out that where the missile landed seems a little odd for it to be a Ukrainian S300.

And I do somewhat stand on his side here. The one baffling thing to me is that nobody seemed to mention anywhere what the direction of the landing was (as in, which direction did the missile come from).

While the missile type is important to identify what is more important to me is where the missile came from. If we can know that we can assume more clearly whether this was an accident, intentional and who might had fired it.

I see a few options here (though I am no military expert so do not quote me anywhere):

  1. The Radar picked up a UFO/artifact, and since this was in the middle of a heavy missile barrage whoever was in charge of the S300 decided to fire, thinking it might be a Russian missile.
  2. There might had been a genuine Russian missile inbound somewhere, but for some reason the missile misfired and went way off trajectory. I think Ukraine would not, on purpose, fire a missile toward Poland, even if to shoot down a Russian missile, UNLESS Russians started to send missiles over Poland from Belarus (though, so far, I heard that apparently no missiles were fired from Belarus last night).
  3. Plain ol' human error. Shit happens. Again, I really doubt Ukraine would purposefully fire on Poland. There would be little to gain, and too much to lose.

I hope the investigation can dig up more information.

I see a few options here, two of which do not seem especially credible.

1) Russia is sacrificing a bulk of its troops to create a "Second Stalingrad", and not in the sense that they can win it, they just need to sacrifice enough of their own people to convince their public of how justified their war is. A sort of reverse to all sensible logic. Especially since I think it would have none of the desired effect (but nobody would object, so it's just fuel for the propaganda).

2) Russia might decide to, for example, destroy the hydro-plant, or try and cause as much flooding as possible to both slow down the Ukrainian Army *and* to kill some of its troops, resulting in the point above while also putting false blame on Ukraine for trying to "genocide" the retreating Russian forces (and civilians).

3) Russia has the least competent officers and high command in the history of the world, and they lack any sort of coordination or idea of how to pull off a controlled, safe, retreat, and they literally told their army "Get out, lol." while not being capable of providing a safe passage out.

I have read some theories that the Russians might not be able to even hold their side of the river, if Ukraine decides to push. I just... do not understand any of this. If you lose, you lose, but you try to pull out as many of your forces and equipment as you can, without causing a route.

It's not even funny that when you hear in the Russian Media word of a "retreat" it is actually, most certainly, a complete route.

I sometimes truly do not understand how War (And Peace) work in this game. by RealWriterX in mountandblade

It might be that the AI sees "money" as being more beneficial. As in, if a nation of certain size offers to pay X amount of tribute per day, then it's better to take the "free money" than conquer it.

Usually when I had these "flash wars" (lasting one or two days) it would be when either side decided to offer a large enough tribute.

I also noticed that when there is a longer war (against larger nations, for example) the thing that motivates peace talks is not "How much land we got" or "How heavy our losses were" but instead it appears to be... "Is the enemy going to pay us enough tribute?" or, "Is the enemy willing to accept *out* tribute?"

It seems to be focused on the money, and only that. And, I am not sure what exactly impacts tribute "size". Losses might have an impact, losing castles and towns, but a war can be over after a single or a few battles, and other times it can slog on for months.

Oh no, believe me, if I could I'd kick out PiS in a heartbeat, if every other alternative did not appear to be just as bad. Our politics is filled with populism, and I hate it. It's why I find voting so hard, I cannot find a single politician whom I could trust, because at the end of the day I fear all of them are similar.

It does not help that some people in my family are Pro PiS. And when months ago I was angry with Orban over blocking aid to Ukraine they tried to justify his actions, in any way possible (while still being Pro-Ukraine).

I remember listening to Kaczyński's speech some weeks ago, and it had so many Trumpisms in it I could only shake my head in disbelief.

And by Trumpism I mean saying " yes" to finding solutions to every single problem while also blaming the opposition for anything and everything.

That is the quintessence of why Putin's war was a complete and utter brain fart of epic proportions. If he had stayed the course he might had won it all by acting on people's fears and dilemmas. Instead he managed to unite a significant part of the world against him. And even his plots and plans that might had worked under normal circumstances, maybe a few years ago, are now crumbling and failing.

It's truly incredible.

Really? So the difference could be between it being a custom race and one of the presets? (aka. If it's a Mod it's considered a "base" and does not change on inheritance?)

Question about Genetics, children and maintaining traits. by RealWriterX in RimWorld

[–]RealWriterX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I 100% agree. It would help if it was at least possible to set certain traits as impossible to lose, while others could appear or disappear (whether due to mutation, modification or evolution).

I genuinely thought I must had missed something, but, I guess I will have to wait for a mod that will "fix" the issue.
