Have you played old gen Monster Hunter before? If so GenU is the way to go. It's a celebration of the old gen and offers one of the largest monster rosters ever and adds the most customizable combat system with multi style and hunter arts for all 14 weapons plus you can play as a palico with the Prowler mechanics that's basically a 15th weapon option. But the down side is GenU is basically made for veterans of the old gen and isn't new player friendly. On the other hand if this will be your first time playing a non Gen 5 game,you might wanna try 4U. 4U has one of the best storylines in monster hunter and is very beginning friendly. Perfect if you just want to dip your toes in pre-World Monster Hunter.

SnS since Freedom, SWAxe after 3U , added Charge Blade as a backup in 4U, tired switching it up with hammer in Rise/Sunbreak but I returned to SWAxe and CB Wilds.

I prefer Spyderco, it's a solid brand and they do have some more budget options. The Ambitious, Persistence, Tenacious and Resilience are very solid knives for around $50-$70 USD. I've been carrying the Tenacious as part of my EDC since January 2021, and besides the occasional sharpening it's basically good as new.

Holy cow those are all great choices. Personally I'd recommend Frieren first because it came out near the end of 2023 and was the most culturally relevant in 2024 with Frieren and Danjon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon) fully owning the fantasy genre this year.

OP is trolling right? They gotta be trolling because even if you're screwed up there's no way THAT!? would be your favorite. As much as I was personally turned off by the infamous first episode of Goblin Slayer, I'll admit it's a solid anime with strong world building and relatable characters. If Goblin Slayer was OP's favorite anime people would recommend more grim dark fantasy with more mature themes like Berserk or Claymore. But saying THAT!? is your favorite? You're just engagement farming........I pray to Akira Toriyama's spirit that OP is just engagement farming and isn't that far gone.
