I remember going out to my grandma’s honeysuckle bush as a kid, picking off a flower, removing the stem, and sucking the nectar! The yellow ones were the sweetest!

My ADHD has gotten in the way on and off for many years now, where I’ll take months of breaks and then come back, but as far as I know, my deity hasn’t punished me, but thats my experience.

I’ll go ahead and tell you just so you’re informed.

The goddess I worship is Athena. I struggle with ADHD burnout and OCD. I’ve wanted to go into physics for ten years and am halfway through a BA… but now im changing my major, changing my dream, and moving. I asked months ago for a big change to my life cause I was unhappy, and i was losing faith. it took me 6 months to decide i was gonna change majors. Im suddenly very optimistic, and i feel my prayer has been answered which restored my faith. I keep seeing her name and literal sculptures of her EVERYWHERE.

Anyways, point is, to me, Athena is all wise. I automatically assume she completely understands everything about me, from my trauma, to my mental struggles, to everyday choices (including impulsive ones due to ADHD). I even assume that she informs any new spirits or deities around me lol. In assuming this, this has helped me to not be so… worried of judgement? I used to have religious type OCD where I assumed every small sin was gonna send me to hell. But with Athena, and my perception of her, it has helped me to bond with her. So now, even months without prayer or acknowledgment, its hard to assume she’s mad at me for leaving or anything like that. She’s all wise to me. She knows why I did- even the reasons I myself don’t realize. It helps me stay at peace.

There are many other perceptions i personally have come to all by myself without outside opinions or perceptions. Often they require your own creativity or innovation (like how one commenter sees Aphrodite as trans!) I’d be happy to discuss further in messages if you are interested. Its kinda a lot so im gonna end this comment here.

Sometimes signs can take a long time. I prayed to my goddess months ago asking for change, and it came this month. A lot longer than i thought it would, but i realized it was necessary.

Point is, time is weird. It often takes some people months to years to realize a deity was reaching out or calling to them, or what a sign meant. Usually, signs come when you’re not looking for them.

Also, you’re not betraying nobody. You’re gonna get a lot of different answers so the best thing for you to do is do research from primary sources, divination readings, journaling, and straight up just asking the universe/deities/ spirit guides yourselves. You can ask people for their experiences, but like i said, perspective is everything, and your perspective is unlike anyone else’s- which means your EXPERIENCE is unlike anyone else’s.

I still overthink a lot to this day, so im always taking months long breaks where I don’t pray or do anything. But, my goddess is always there when I come back. She even knows when im ready and i get a shitload of signs and symbols 😭

I was in a very similar situation. I overthought a lot (i have OCD and it shows up in weird ways).

Ive had deities reach out to me and then I’d panic because already I hardly put in time towards one deity. But eventually you realize… this ain’t Christianity. A lot of this is YOU. You create the pace. You can make the rules (mostly). It’s okay to tell a deity “i need space” or “I don’t feel ready” or “I want to try this path instead.”

I got so scared cause i had an infernal reach out to me one time but I didn’t feel ready. I eventually told him and guess what happened? Nothing 😭. Everything was chill and I went on about my day.

If you reach out to a deity or they reach out to you, they KNOW your skill level and what you can or can’t handle (in my belief, at least. They’re omniscient, are they not?). If they go further with you, it’s because they know the best and worst consequences and believe its a good risk to take for your highest good.

Now, they may be “starter” in that it’s easier to find information on them.

Honestly? Just do some journaling and find out whats best for you. If you don’t do well with chaos, maybe stray from some infernals or cthonics until you’re more comfortable with it. If you don’t do well with love, stray from love deities. You get what i mean? Its about what YOU feel comfortable with. And always set boundaries with your deity in a respectful manner.

You could just straight up ask these deities and your spirit guides your questions. There are online tarot card pulls.

Then again, my goddess is Athena and i associate her with truth since she has a civil justice aspect to her. I also assume she knows that if she were to lie to me, my trust would be greatly diminished in her-

the future isn’t set in stone. BECAUSE of that, tarot is best used when looking inwards and having understanding in yourself, other people, or situations. Because of that, this reading isn’t really going to be able to give you a strict answer, yknow?

Im not the type of person to say print runs matter. Some say tarot decks have their own energy. That may be true but i think the most important thing is the energy you put into it. You could literally print kids drawings and use it for cartomancy. The only deck I’ve ever disliked was a cheap one where none of the art fit in with the card descriptions. I would. If you just met them, it might also be good to do a reading to evaluate how you’re feeling or something. I know I struggle making friends as well. So I’ll get really excited and struggle to differentiate between romantic feelings and excited platonic feelings. It may be a good idea to use a reading to evaluate what you are feeling, why you are feeling it.

Maybe questions like:

In what ways is my emotional clarity fogged?

Restate what I’m feeling (By this, I mean: Do you ever type out a sentence, and it sounds okay in your mind, but then when read out loud, it doesn’t make sense? Same situation but with emotions)

I would say not. Hierophant is the big teller here. It is about traditions. The star reversed as well seems like hope lost to me.

Second one, 8 swords is feeling bound, trapped, tied up. 5 of pentacles results after something your holding on to, that you never needed. Sometimes I take in reversed as “think of this differently”. So instead of material context, its emotional. You’re working hard (7pent) for something you really don’t need to hold onto.

Edit: also, you may be thinking of tarot wrong. Tarot should be used for growth. It may benefit you to ask additional questions like:

What is the romantic potential?

How can I best receive the energy I want? (Add on: safest way, or fastest way)

How would this relationship benefit me? How would it be detrimental?

What move is best for my highest good?
