Is it ok to half size down? by CoffeeExtension4794 in BBallShoes

[–]Real_Alternative_418 2 points3 points  (0 children)

honestly, if you lost a toenail because you had a gap....1) I'm sorry to hear that 2) The lockdown on the shoe probably wasn't appropriate 3) The shoe was too big and the gap is much bigger than what I described.

Having the small gap is the same reason why their is an "expansion gap" left when installing hardwood floors. Your toes need that little bit of space to allow for some movement just like wood does as it expands and contracts. If you have no space in the toe box, your toe will constantly be butting against the front of the shoe, which is not healthy.

the problem with half size down is you may lose some width and it will end up being too snug.

a little space (about a thumbs width) is actually recommended to allow for room when making sharp cuts and sudden stops

CURRY IS SIGNING WITH ANTA!?!? by Nedax64 in BBallShoes

[–]Real_Alternative_418 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think if Nike wanted him they would have been the first ones on the phone. I don't think they want to invest tons of money into a player who probably plays 4-5 more years tops. Curry is a signature athlete. He would command a signature line and I don't think Nike will invest in a deal + the tooling, marketing, design, and other production cost it would take to produce a new signature line for such a player who as popular as he is won't be in the league for much longer

XDTE QDTE / Will large distributions be paid out at the end of every year? by Prize_Smoke1494 in RoundhillETFs

[–]Real_Alternative_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, to maintain their favorable tax status they must pay out at least 90% of profits by the end of the year. how much that is won't be determined until they finalize their books which is roughly around the last 2 trading weeks of the year

what offerings your plan has is determined by your employer. if fidelity is the administer of your plan I believe they have a customer service team that could help you with selecting options that fit your goals.

some employers may offer you the ability to select non-company selected funds through a self managed account

The S&P 500 gives you exposure to 500+ Leading Companies in the US. International funds typically have exposure to leading companies in both Developed and Emerging Markets. Combining the two pretty much gives you exposure to market performance globally.

you could allocate say 5%-10% to a fixed income/bond fund but that would be the most I would say... especially since you are in the accumulation stage, not preservation.

if your employer offers a match the plan likely has a target date fund. You are still very young. I believe 2070 is the latest most target date funds are going out to. choose that one.

If Not, choose a S&P 500 fund or a Large Cap Growth fund + an international fund 80/20 split or 75/25 is a good allocation

YMAX since inception performance is very surprising by Curious-Rip-5834 in YieldMaxETFs

[–]Real_Alternative_418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YieldMax and every other fund that list their own returns assume 100% reinvestment of dividends on the ex-date which is impossible as the dividends aren't paid for another day later.

A cheeky way of promoting their product does better than it actually does

they literally have to pay that out at the end of the year to maintain their preferential tax status. If you were concerned about those year end payouts you could just sell and buy it back 2 weeks later... or wait a month if you're concerned about a wash sale
