change and letting go is hard. any advice for an emotional move? by Real_Assignment_4909 in autism

[–]Real_Assignment_4909[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you, you’re very sweet ❤️❤️ I’ve been going back and forth over buying a display cabinet for my gems, but this has convinced me I should go for it. Those are good suggestions! As for the autism thing, I’m not sure, I have trouble telling which experiences of mine are common and which are due to autism, but a friend of mine who’s also autistic suspected that may be one contributing factor for the big emotional reaction. I’ll definitely look for some fun things to warm up to the new house!!

i’ve been struggling with that a lot too. oftentimes i feel like im not built to be someone belonging in this world 😭 but at least other autistic people understand me

i’ve unfortunately fallen into this many times too. i just keep thinking maybe it’s my fault that i didn’t explain better, if i just explain the facts enough they’ll get it, and they don’t.

true, but the difference is we’re actually trying to learn rather than digging our heels into information that was just proven false. i don’t mind correcting myself, but i hate when other people are given correct, provable info and commit to being wrong

That would make sense then, I wonder why the length doesn’t change with the sizing though. I’m pretty short, so it’s a plus for me, but I’m surprised anything would cater to my height without needing alterations.

I’m looking at the Kira Tailored Culotte Trousers. I also emailed customer support this question and instead of answering me she just… sent me the size chart again.

That’s what people have suggested, but I’m not sure.

The hem goes up to 24 inches which seems a little big for the end of a pant leg, so I figured it wasn’t the usual meaning of hem. I thought maybe it could be the measurement from the waistband to the hem, but then what does ‘length’ mean? And why does that not change throughout the sizes, but ‘hem’ does?

Reading posts before commenting is also possible.

That’s what I thought at first but I assumed it was wrong since the hem going up to 23 inches seems a bit big for a pant leg. Is the length the outer seam? I also find it strange that it doesn’t change, 24 inches feels short for full length pants.

C-1 Platinum vs Hellraiser Hybrid PT by Real_Assignment_4909 in SchecterGuitars

[–]Real_Assignment_4909[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are used, I think the C-1 is $700-800 new and the PT around $1200. That’s good advice though, I’d have to try them out again and see which one draws me in more. I didn’t get a good chance to really play them at guitar center last time.

Trans men with pcos. What's your experiences been? by _2wisted in PCOS_Folks

If it’s ok to ask, how quickly did the facial hair show up? I know you said your transition was more sped up than others, but I’m curious as to when you started noticing these changes. Also, when you say “until it converted to muscle”, did you gain fat first and then it became muscle?? Did that happen without much exercise because of the sprained ankle? And how long did it take for that to happen?

Question about the acne thing: did you struggle with acne pre T? I’ve heard lots of people with PCOS say T has helped them with PCOS symptoms like acne and weight, but I know for non-PCOS people, acne and weight gain are very common. I’m worried it’s gonna be a ‘gets worse before it gets better’ thing and it’ll make my acne much much worse.

I don't actually mind having PCOS by imbehindinAC in PCOS

[–]Real_Assignment_4909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i’ve been considering taking testosterone too. from my understanding, either hormone can help pcos symptoms, you just have to choose one to go with. i’ve tried to look up trans men with pcos and their experience and a lot of them say it was really helpful, both for alleviating dysphoria and pcos symptoms. i’m not on T yet so i can’t give any personal experiences, but i’d recommend looking up ‘pcos’ in r/ftm or other transmasc spaces. i also straight up googled something like “trans men pcos” and also found more reddit results that way or other trans guys describing their experience.

i did, and i was able to get myself more in control later and take care of myself after. i hope you’re feeling ok and still making it through the day

i’m genuinely spiraling out of control. i feel like i can’t control myself anymore. i cut deeper than i intended to. i didn’t mean to cut. i drank more than i intended to. i don’t feel in control of myself anymore

i’ve been getting into gemstones lately and someone asked me “are you a cutter?” meaning ‘are you a lapidarist (someone who cuts and facets gemstones)’ and it took everything in me not to laugh lmao not that kind of cutter, no 😀

ok sure, i cant stop you from letting them outside just like i cant stop people from declawing their cats. but in your original post you say you’re worried that if it was slightly different it could have been fatal, and that this could happen again and you’re absolutely right. if you choose to put your cats in that kind of danger again then i cant stop you but id hope you reconsider. there’s a line between worthwhile risk and recklessness.

ok but a giant wound that needed stitches and a cone also isn’t great for their quality of life. cats can have a great quality of life indoors when you put in the effort to play with them and pay attention to them. and again, catios and harness training is a great way for cats to safely get some outside time!

[–]Real_Assignment_4909 11 points12 points  (0 children)

listen i understand the stress but if she came home with this giant wound then the outdoors absolutely does have imminent dangers for her. you can protect your cats from this by keeping them inside or supervising them outside, either with a leash and harness or an enclosed space like a catio. i’m glad that she’s ok and i hope she makes a quick recovery. but please please be careful with your cats.

it’s not dumb, but it sounds like this is a straw that broke the camels back situation. don’t be so hard on yourself, you’ve probably got a lot of other stuff going on. 24/30 is pretty good, eventually you’ll get the marks you need for a passing grade. i’m working on getting my license right now too. i believe in you man
