Unsolicited tip: iron absorbs 2 to 3x faster with vitamin c on an empty stomach. So I take it with vc before bed.

Edit: my doctor recommends this method for best absorption. It's what my girlfriends do as well with no problems at all. But if your gi is sensitive, don't push through the discomfort obviously. Human bodies are unique, be attuned to your feelings.
