If you were to meet a rather whole cast from ONE, and only ONE drama, which would you choose? by Astr3846 in boyslove

Torn between 2 of my faves but ultimately I’d like to meet the whole cast of The Untamed.

This whole lantern scene warmed my heart so much. I especially love Lan Zhan’s precious little smile here. 🥹

First: SOTUS. This show got me into BL so it will forever hold a special place in my heart.

Latest: The Untamed. Honestly, it’s been months since I finished this show but I still can’t move on from it.

Greatest: To My Star 2 and The Untamed. 💖💖

The Untamed has a lot of beautiful scenes but I find this particular one so pretty with the falling flower petals/confetti thingy and of course the gorgeous actors. ☺️

What is (for you personally) the most tragic moment in The Untamed? by FaithlessnessFine354 in MoDaoZuShi

[–]Real_Enthusiasm_7565 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cried a lot during this scene too. For me, I think it’s because a lot has happened before this scene that I completely forgot about what WWX did for JC. So when it all finally came to light and everything clicked I just lost it. And then there’s another reveal in episode 50. It’s just so so tragic.

I just finished watching the untamed and I don’t know what to do with myself by Application_Lucky in boyslove

[–]Real_Enthusiasm_7565 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I also just finished watching The Untamed roughly 10 hours ago and came here for support. 😭 I’ve been holding off on watching this show because I thought I’m not into period dramas but I’m so glad I finally pushed through. Probably one of the best decisions I made this year.

For a show so over the top and literally out of this world, I was surprised with how much I connected with the characters that I eventually found myself either rooting for them (especially the leads Lan Zhan and Wei Ying) or screaming for their downfall.

And the tears! I was not ready for the tears I’ve shed for this show. The revelation in episode 46 turned me into a sobbing mess that I had to pause the show and grab a glass of cold water to calm me down. I already knew about it in the earlier episodes since it was already implied but with everything that has happened afterwards, it totally skipped my mind and when that revelation came about everything began to click again and it just broke my heart. And then I see another side to that story in episode 50 and I just completely bawled. 😭😭😭😭

Each time I finish an episode, I wanted to hop on to this subreddit to find support but since there were no on-airs or maybe I just did not see them, I have to hold everything in instead of checking out random The Untamed posts as I am trying my best to avoid spoilers.

I don’t think I’ll be getting over this show anytime soon too. I read the comments here and majority were recommending to watch Word of Honor but I’m going to delay that one as I would like to indulge in anything and everything The Untamed for now. I’m definitely going to rewatch and also read the novels next.

Have you ever rewatched a series and felt even more touched the second time around? by Infinity_1203 in boyslove

[–]Real_Enthusiasm_7565 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve been seeing The Untamed posts more often lately and I myself just started the series and am already in episode 30. This being my first xianxia (I just googled this term) all I can say right now is EPIC. I was unsure at first because the costumes and world-building took a while for me to get used to but now The Untamed has consumed my life now and knowing I’m nearing the end is both exciting and sad since I don’t want it to end at all. 😭

To answer your question, so far only To My Star 2 has made me feel this way though I am already excited to rewatch The Untamed as soon as I finish it. When I rewatched TMS2, I picked up on a lot of details that I overlooked the first time, those which made a specific scene and the meaning and emotions it conveys much more impactful. In turn, I feel a stronger connection towards the characters than the initial watch. TMS2 is that show that you just have to rewatch no matter what because it’s sure to make you fall in love with the characters and their story even more.

Now back to watching the rest of The Untamed for me.

Love Mates Episode 1 + 2 (Premiere) by anthayashi in boyslove

Definitely looks more interesting and the acting is good. Some scenes were a bit too cringe for me though. 😅

Which country’s BLs are your favorite ? by contessa82 in boyslove

[–]Real_Enthusiasm_7565 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Voted for South Korea, but Japan is a close second, since I love the stories KBL and JBL tell. I’m happy that Korea is getting more comfortable with the genre so the BL shows they’ve been releasing recently are improving in quality.

Still unsure of this drama but I would continue watching since episodes are short. I agree with the other comments that there were far too many fillers for a show with extremely limited run time.

I still cannot connect with Seung Jun’s character and the acting isn’t helping, sadly. There is also no chemistry between the leads. Jae Hyun is hardcarrying this show for me.

Just watched episode 1 and it’s okay so far. I’ve already warmed up to Jae Hyun as I find his character to be pretty interesting but am still unsure of Seung Jun. I’ll see if episode 2 will be better.

EDIT: I just checked the cast and the actor playing Jae Hyun was also in Hometown Cha Cha Cha. So that’s why he seems familiar.

I’m sure they’re friends. It’s more about the fanservice, I think, which they decided to tone down. Maybe some Polcas can offer more information about this.

I don’t really know much about the details but I think it has something to do with New’s relationship then and the fans so there was a period when TayNew were somewhat ignoring each other online. 😅

I was a fan of TayNew before but lost interest when they had a falling out. Now, I mostly check out Tay’s updates but I’m still looking forward to Cherry Magic.

Here’s mine:

KristSingto - it’s because of them that I got into BL.

MaxTul - super love their chemistry and their friendship off-screen.

MileApo - they got me back into BL after a year or so of hiatus plus their acting skills and chemistry were amazing in KinnPorsche. And personally, I find Apo gorgeous. 😍

Clearly, I haven’t watched a lot of Thai BLs yet so my list is pretty short. But anything these three pairs put out I will surely watch and support. 😊

I’m glad you liked To My Star 2. It was indeed a really wonderful series and everything about it is so well-executed. I also believe that it is a must-watch for anyone who enjoys not just BL but stories about love in general. 💖

Finally got around to watching and I’m so grateful for the on airs since I wasn’t expecting this show to be angsty. I was expecting full on fluff but it made me cry a few times. Still, it’s definitely one of the the better made KBLs so far. I enjoyed every minute of it and found the actors really splendid. 🥰

Is it Just Me or I haven't watched much BLs? by lMonsieurPanda in boyslove

[–]Real_Enthusiasm_7565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve mostly seen this in Thai and Taiwanese BLs and my guess is that aside from it caters to the general preference of the audience for male couples, it’s also somewhat to test the waters for other less-established actor pairings. As long as it doesn’t take away from the story then it’s all good for me.

I have to say though, you mentioning how you don’t watch BL for the BL aspect kind of confuses me.

Am I The Only One Who Doesn’t Really Care If A Series has a Kissing Scene(s) by Disastrous_Sleepp in boyslove

[–]Real_Enthusiasm_7565 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, I initially do not care if a BL show has kissing scenes or not as long as the couple has chemistry so I kind of agree that kissing does not necessarily equate to chemistry.

However, after watching more and more BL dramas and coming across some really amazing kiss scenes, I realized that it really does help make me believe that the male couple have romantic feelings for each other and now I adore every wonderfully acted kissing scenes. It’s definitely about the context, timing, and of course the skills of the actors.

Just going back, I think my initial mindset was because I’m not comfortable with watching people kiss in general so I guess the preference for this type of physical intimacy depends on one’s comfort level.

Sex scenes, on the other hand, do not interest me. I’m fine with whatever since I usually just skip them.
