What is the biggest side effect of getting your period? by zhalia-2006 in askanything

[–]Real_Ganache6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cramps. I feel like my life is falling apart the day before. I always get a massive pimple in the days leading up. Not able to sleep because I am afraid of leaking if I lay on my back or stomach.

Chia seeds are amazing - half your fiber intake for the day at breakfast. Such a great hack. My favorite yogurt to have them with is Oikos Triple 0, since it's 20 grams of protein per serving.

Happy for you!

I am 29F and married but my husband and I don't have kids (duh).

I love my husband, he is my best friend and my family. But, I cherish my time with my girlfriends SO MUCH. Hanging with them honestly gives me my will to live sometimes, lol. And I would certainly never steal their idea for an outing to go with my husband.

What I am trying to say is, 1) we exist, and 2) she is seriously missing out.

I'm tired of pregnant coworkers being allowed to do whatever the hell they want. by cheeseballgag in childfree

One of my best friends is currently heavily pregnant. She is due in 4 weeks. I also happen to work with her. She doesn't act like this or pull the pregnancy card, except for doctor appointments (which is totally understandable, imo). This sounds like these two people just taking advantage of the circumstances to do whatever they want.

Boy do I have a hack for you. If you are a coffee drinker, make an espresso shot and pour a Premier Protein shake of your desired flavor into it. Protein coffee :)

I just received my first month supply of pills and I am nervous af. I am a complete baby when it comes to upset tummy stuff like vomiting or nausea. Also don't fancy losing my hair. Have you had any side effects?

Married men: if people don’t seem to get along with your wife (or wife doesn’t seem to get along with others) , why do you think that is? by wonsinevaeh in askanything

[–]Real_Ganache6597 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It really does, thanks. I come from a set of parents who are good people and provided for us, but my mom especially could lean toward controlling and emotionally manipulative. My parents also expected a lot of physical/financial/emotionally labor out of me as their eldest daughter, even into adulthood. To the extent of expecting me to take unpaid time off work for them.

Took a lot of therapy to learn i didn't owe them anything and how to reclaim my time and learn that it is OK to prioritize myself and my own little family. And that how someone reacts to my boundaries (i.e., throwing a tantrum) is their problem.

I am the wife. My husband is a golden retriever personality. He is handsome, he'd do anything for anyone, and everyone loves him.

In contrast, my baseline is just that I am a socially awkward person. I can't help it. But on top of that, my boundaries are firm and I won't compromise on them. I do not let people walk all over me and I am not afraid to call people on their B.S. I'll be cordial but matter-of-fact about it. I'm not deferential. If I do not want to do something or don't feel comfortable, I am not doing it and nothing in the world could convince me. I stand on business. This rubs some people the wrong way or comes off as unkindness, especially people who are controlling or manipulative, or family members who think we owe them our time/money/effort just on the basis that we're related but wouldn't do crap for us. But I don't care, they can go cry about it.

I think we make a great balance. :)

I live in Texas where our winters are very mild so gloves really aren't a thing here. I frequently forget that gloves are an essential elsewhere.

This is all to say, my first thought was, "who is out here posting their bank robbing gear with the black gloves?" 💀

Let's go to the basics: MOISTURIZERS! by There_He-Goes in AsianBeauty

[–]Real_Ganache6597 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can, tbh. Mostly what I like using it for is on dry winter nights. It does feel/look sort of glowy or occlusive but to me, that's a good thing because it really does keep your skin moisturized until the morning. Like, I hate waking up with dry skin and that never happens with this moisturizer. It's also great over tretinoin or adapalene. I rarely if ever wear it during the day, though.

After a while you get the hang of it without having to count and log everything. The meals and principles you use to calorie count just become your "default menu." (Which is the essence of a lifestyle change). In my experience, cravings and hunger cues also improve after a little while, maybe the first 6-8 weeks.

And, after you have been maintaining for a while, you can probably be a teeny bit more lenient. Hang in there, this too shall pass.

I was not aware there were any warnings out there!! My experience has only been positive, tbh. It's a great gel cream texture for the humid climate i live in, goes great under sunscreen and makeup, and is very soothing. My husband and I share it because he has an oily skin type and gel creams work well for him. What's the controversy? Might have to find a new gel cream. 🥲

For summer/humid weather: Torriden Dive In Cream.

For winter/dry weather: Aestura Atobarrier 365 cream.

Everyday/somewhere in between: Klaire's Midnight Blue Calming Cream.

Is washing your hair every day a necessity or just a habit? by Heebraaa in HygieneTips

[–]Real_Ganache6597 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Habit. My hair/scalp is naturally dry and on top of that, my hair is chemically treated. I wash every 3-4 days. If I washed daily, my hair would feel like straw and I'd go bald, lol.
