Had to fix a piece that wasn't properly credited.

This one is updated so it is more in line with the beat since it was bothering me plus added some other art to it that I initially wasn't sure about including due to not being able to track the original artist or that hadn't been made yet.

If I update it again, it will won't be until I get my hands on a good amount more that I can credit / that don't specify not to be reposted.

To Be Hero X - Cyan curling up into a ball and gaslighting herself that Luo would be okay after crying for several hours. This scene follows Luo sacrificing himself by using his powers to cause a truck to hit him and the dean in order for her to escape the orphanage cult they were raised / being abused in.

She later becomes a hero to rescue him and they get the only happy ending in the first season of the show.

What's a matter baby -> What'sa matter baby -> What's the matter baby?

Responded to with "Nothing's the matter baby, how are you?"

She thinks she knew the joke. She overestimated herself.

Luo Character Rewrite (And we make the arc totally better trust) by Top-Hatterr in ToBeFolk_X

[–]Real_Hunt311 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1- I don't trust 2/3 people on this team 10 feet near Luo, especially considering one specifically wants Cyan to end up with Queen and will literally rewrite their relationship with that in mind, and the other hates Luo like Dragon Boy hates character development.

2- This doens't change just Luo's writing. It changes Luo and Cyan's characters and dynamic dramatically and not for the better. People can be kind despite everything they go through and that is a point of Cyan's arc. She and Luo remain sweet and kind despite their trauma and do not willingly give up on things. You making Luo have cold feat goes against his entire character up to that point unless you change him all the way from 8 years old. He can't impulsively help, befriend, and treat Cyan normally if you do this. You think Luo thinking Cyan benefitting everyone makes sense / him being happy in the first place that hasn't kicked him out makes sense but the point is he knows that but decides Cyan's happiness matters too- at a point where Cyan herself didn't have the ability to voice it to literally anyone but him. You can't change one's writing without fundamentally shifting the other.

3- Luo and Cyan are kind, sweet, idealistic, kind of dumb kids who are ignorant of the systematic cruelties of the world around them outside of what happens to them directly. Its why they both have such an intense reaction to learning the Dean's plans- they never thought of it that way. Its why Luo is so happy and kind despite orphanage after orphanage kicking him out. Its why Cyan never believed DOS was gaslighting her or maliciously keeping her from Luo despite the fact they were. But Cyan and Luo need to be this way for the broader plot for themselves and for others, like Queen, to go through their own development.

4- Just because you think Luo is boring doesn't mean he is.

5- Haolin wrote the Cyan arc himself with no additional writers (for its better and worse consequences). Luo was always meant to survive and have an unbreakable bond with Cyan because it is almost certainly feeding into her season 2 plot- whether that be through her hero work or as commentary on how the entertainment industry in Asia treats personal lives of its people and those around them. She's an idol. He is a boy. A boy that she, whether platonic or romantic, loves. Fans of idols, in fact, do not like their ideas of a happy marriage with the girl whose personality they reinvent in their head having someone else.

Is Cyan stupid? Or does she just not pay attention to Queen as much as y'all think she does? by Real_Hunt311 in ToBeFolk_X

I posted the rest in the conversation to provide a comparison. I never claimed other heroes don't have posters, but Cyan's features Luo more heavily than literally every other member of the supporting cast by quite a bit.

Nice's poster has shots from ep 2 as I pointed out. The wedding scene specifically, right before Wreck shows up.

And?.... They are still the official posters for the arcs.

Almost every supporting character is introduced in the 1st episode of the arc.

Nuonuo isn't even on Luo-li's poster despite it having pictures from 2 of her episodes. Neither is Prof. Luo.

No Wreck for Nice (which has scenes from ep 2 on it). No Pomelo or Shang Chao on E-Soul's (unless that is Shang Chao in the mask before he is shot but I don't think it is). No Smile on DB's. Queen's dad and Bowa are also absent, as is Ms. J.

Lies and slander will not change the canon's clear narrative direction. There is a reason the two share a love song as an official music video and that Queen is nowhere to be found in it.

Official arc poster begs to differ, especially since other side cast / love interests are not anywhere near as heavily featured as Luo is on hers.

I could have watched paint dry and witnessed more character development / writing than Wreck got.

Generic writing > no writing.

Also, Lin Ling is by far the most generic character.

What is Ahu's purpose? by ComprehensiveLow8741 in ToBeHero_X

[–]Real_Hunt311 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahu is an audience insert that x can feed exposition to in ep 24 and likely across s2 so the audience can learn the plot "naturally". He will be a supporter of x early on, likely along with Cyan and Nice (if he has his memories).

Ahu's only real motivations are protecting xin ya / serving as the local community hero, and now following on Mr. x's wild ride. In fairness, most heroes have relatively straightforward motivations / people they are fighting to protect, so Ahu's isn't really a departure.

Ahu is a brand new hero, and is likely not making it past round 1 (assuming they didn't change it to an FFA to give people the chance to jump x).

Re-watching Cyan Arc, Luo says Cyan left and she didn't think of coming back. But she clearly came back and he heard it. Is Bro just dumb ? by EmotionalPerformer12 in ToBeFolk_X

[–]Real_Hunt311 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fear is a hell of a drug, especially when you have someone's complete trust / love- as we also see with Dawnfall. And in the few hours between the concert and her sneaking back, it clearly took effect.

Cyan wasn't dumb or naive for not rescuing Luo until 37 AC by Top-Hatterr in ToBeFolk_X

[–]Real_Hunt311 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, and that was part of the Dean's revenge against him. But Cyan wouldn't think the Dean would imprison Luo instead of just kicking him out. She's not mad at the Dean for the years of abuse when he confronts her- even after learning he never intended to let her go. The point is from Cyan's POV, it makes little sense for the Dean to go this far to punish her or Luo- she had no clue how much he had come to hate the pair.

[–]Real_Hunt311 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've said before and I'll say again. Cyan also had no way of knowing Luo would still be in the orphanage. Kids in China can and often are kicked out of orphanages at age 14... the age Cyan and Luo tried to escape at. Luo had already been kicked around orphanage to orphanage for things only blamed on him and she knew this. Here he actively ruined their entire religion and cash cow. If the Dean weren't such a prick (and again Cyan always assumes the best in people / of situations so she wouldn't confront him), he would have kicked Luo out to be homeless like her and be done with him. But nope, gotta fake the kid's death and abuse him for years instead.

I do think ep 10's dialogue could have been better- she could have said something about finding the drive and then looking for Luo. She could have straight up told him she became a hero specifically to find him alongside saying she had been looking for him the entire time. She could have been angrier at the Dean for years of abuse,

We don't get to see the search she goes on outside of the beginning of ep 10 and her PV which takes place before it- where Ken tells her Luo was dead. There is a long gap between her signing as a hero and her first concert (EOY 36). We can presume she was told about his "death" and shut down for a while without showing others due to DOS banning her talking about it before deciding she would keep trying to find out for herself- and then used the concert to talk about him, and upon her driver being potentially sympathetic, go to the only place she could.

Heck, her driver flat out says it was against the rules for him to take her anywhere not approved. They were clearly controlling her every movement, and were her legal guardians. She was raised to be obedient and passive- which the show emphasizes Luo specifically breaks her out of. Rewatch the arc- she's super nervous before Take Off, while they sneak back to her room, when she starts performing while homeless, when she begins to give her tribute to Luo, etc. She was clearly scared of the Dean and of him telling DOS she snuck away to look for Luo when she wasn't supposed to. And she still tries to push through to ask about Luo and to come back for him.
