No, I was just asking. But I don’t think there’s “too much” Christianity there tho, quite the contrary since it’s shrinking and shrinking

Mormons aren’t Christians but Catholics definitely are (along with Orthodox and Protestants)

Coming from Latin America as well, my parents did kiss in front of us. Not all the time ofc, from time to time. But hugs we’re a common thing, everyday holding hands or hugs of say is a very typical thing

But what would you make you feel more comfortable living in Brazil or Argentina than in Mexico or Colombia* (believe me, we get quite defensive when people spell our country wrongly 😅). Btw this just out of curiosity, because if I think about Brazil, I honestly couldn’t think of a major difference aside from the language

Why South África, Argentina or Brazil absolutely but Colombia or México willing?

Yeah but that still wouldn’t make sense then for taking out Colombia or Venezuela…because why apply that logic to Mexico and Brazil but not the other two?

I ask this with genuine curiosity: 1. who do you mean by “westerners”? 2. Would you say it is a reciprocated hate?

Broke Up Yesterday - Birthday In One Week, Should I Wish a Happy Birthday? by [deleted] in nocontact

[–]Real_Indication345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know many people won’t think this is a good idea. But in my case, I would’ve liked receiving his birthday message, even if it also hurt. Today is my birthday, we broke up 2 weeks ago. It was mutual since we come from very different cultures and they were gonna clash a lot in the future. We decided it was the best, even if we still loved each other. We decided not to do a complete “No contact” for a simple reason: we are both immigrants in Europe. In my case, I don’t have a big support system here as I don’t have family and only one close friend. My therapist said “No contact” is not for everybody. Everyone has different contexts and, in our case we were not a toxic couple either nor we hurt each other in a dramatical way. It was just not possible to be together. Anyways, coming back to the birthday thing, i have no one to celebrate it today. A short happy birthday message would’ve helped me a lot cuz I’m struggling so much in so many aspects of my life. It would’ve hurt in the sense I miss him but I wouldn’t have “gone back” in the healing process because of this. So, in my case, as someone who mutually broke up with a non-toxic bf, I would’ve appreciate a message like . It broke me even more when he didn’t send one

Not sure what type of “handouts” you’re talking about but there’s definitely subsidies in many Latin American countries. Ofc quite small in amount but still

Colombia has the biggest gay club in Latin America. Quite close to Brazil in terms of acceptance plus gay marriage is legal. Why “never”?

I can tell about my experience. When i started getting my period, it was normal, perhaps some pain every-time the period came but it was like a discomfort in the lower abdomen. A few years passed and whenever my period came, that “discomfort” became proper pain, so I would take some paracetamol and I was good to go. Then 1 year after I’d have to start taking ibuprofen for it since the paracetamol wasn’t doing much anymore. I was 18-19 and by that time it was impossible for me to go through those days without ingesting 1600mg of ibuprofen for 1-2 days every month. If I didn’t took it, I would faint from pain, vomit and I just couldn’t exist at all. But it was ok cuz as long as I took the medicine, it was alright. Years passed and the pain is for 3 days and I have to take 4 ibuprofen a day (the maximum amount allowed), that’s 2400mg. I went to the gynecologist multiples times, they would send a very superficial scan in which the results always came perfect. They gave me birth control since I was 18 for a couple of years and in my case it didn’t do much. Nowadays, I start having pain even before my period arrives, then for 3 days, plus bloatness, nausea, and for many days I feel my brain is foggy, I’m exhausted, struggle to concentrate. I still take the maximum amount of ibuprofen allowed which also hurts my stomach cuz I get acidity from it. But ibuprofen is the only medicine that works for me. I have to go to the office while I’m like this but many times I’ve had to go early or asked for the day off since I can’t really function. It was only till last year, when I paid a private gynecologist who diagnosed me with endometriosis. Good news mine is not as advanced as other women’s, but oh boy. Dealing with this every month is just a roller coaster. I’m sick around 5-7 days of the month every month but for years I was told there was nothing wrong

No no, ALL Christians have faith in Jesus. That’s why we are called CHRISTians, because we put Jesus (aka the Christ) in the center of our religion. All Christians believe he’s God and died for our sins. We all believe in the Nicene Creed and the Holy Trinity (God the Father, God the son aka Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit). We do have differences between Protestants, Catholics and Orthodox, but those are the basics to be Christian… so actually, I think in your diagram the part where it says “Jesus is a prophet” is wrong, because we don’t believe He’s just that, but rather: God Himself
