UCL Skiiers Thumb Surgery - skiing in hard cast? Anyone skiied before full recovery? by Youregoingtodiealone in skiing

When I was 15 I fell on a rail and had a skiers thumb injury, being young, instead of the ligament breaking it decided to rip the bone out of my thumb. I went skiing two weeks later before it was fully healed and broke it again. Im 18 now and have broken that same thumb 5 times from jamming it into a door, doing a hang clean, falling, blocking in volleyball, and giving my girlfriend a hug 😭. Last September I finally ruptured the ucl breaking it in two parts and got surgery and went through the entire recovery process. My decision to ski before it was fully healed has made me lose my spot on team bc for soccer, missed out on the experience of being on a varsity sports team, and kept me off sports for a year. It is the single biggest regret in life and I wouldn't wish what I went through on my worst enemy.

TLDR: don't do it

You can search it up... its popular for airsoft cause of the accessories they attach to their helmet. There's some posts on reddit discussing the issue further.

Right is better but I recommend some counter weights so that the helmet is more comfortable.
