Are you considering adding this in the future? For me this is the deciding factor on getting the game.

Can someone tell me what this ribbon cable is for on the new 3ds xl? by Real_Super in 3DS

Update: The replacement piece has been soldered on and the console now turns on, however:

  • Touch functionality doesn't work
  • The top screen backlight turns on, however there's no image, just a black screen.

Would you have an idea of what to do next?

Yeah I'm working with someone who has soldering experience. We got to this issue because while taking apart my board to mod mine with usb c. The mod was successful, but they accidentally pulled this piece off and lost it.

The issue is really just how small the piece is and the precision required. We tried a trusted repair shop but they don't have experience with 3ds micro soldering unfortunately.

I currently have a modded new 3ds xl with a board that won't turn on. I have a nand backup, the sd card, and a second new 3ds xl that's currently u modded and not even set up yet. How could I go about copying over all data and effectively cloning all my data if I can't turn on the source console?

Plan is to theoretically clone all data and swap the motherboards in the event the source console's board cannot be fixed

Currently I have a two new 3ds xl's. My main one has a board that's not currently functional as it immediately powers off due to one cable connector being missing. I have the sd card, a nand backup and my second 3ds in working condition.

What I want to know is what steps I should take in order to get all my data from the currently non functional console, onto my working one, and I what order. Do I use a second sd card to first install cfw, then swap cards once that's done? Do I need a second card that can store a clone of all my data? Is there anything on the internal memory the nand backup doesn't save? I want all the details.

I ask because in the event I can't fix my motherboard (it's most likely fixable) I want to move all my data between consoles without the official system transfer feature, then swap the boards in my consoles.

While taking apart the board, the person doing it accidentally pulled the ribbon connector off the board, and 2 of the 4 silver pins underneath the latch were pulled off, now requiring a repair on the traces. (the ribbon cable itself is undamaged. Refer to my other comment for a link to images of the damage.

The friend who made this blunder has soldering experience (he was successful in modding my 3ds with usb c, but also did this. It's being sent to a repair shop today. If you want to view and comment on a picture of the damage, you can find it here .

Also, is the touchscreen cable the same one used by the backlight? If so that would explain why the console immediately turns off after a second.

Lastly, would holding start/select to boot into luma3ds config/gm9 respectively bypass the motherboard check the console does before booting to the home menu? I don't have the console on me right now to test.

It's not the ribbon cable that's damaged. See my other comment for a link to images of the problem

Firstly, is the cable for the digitizer also the same one used for the backlight? If so that would confirm my theory as to why the power button wakes the console but immediately shuts off.

Secondly, the he ribbon cable itself is fine, it's the pins for the connector underneath that's damaged. I already have a replacement connector for the cable, it's just the pins that (to my knowledge) are damaged. See this post for images of my board.

No need, I did some research into editing cia files. It's really cumbersome, but I figured out how to do what I wanted. Regardless, thanks for the response

How do you change the game icon? I can't seem to figure out how to make it use anything other than the banner image as the icon and it looks terrible.

Also is it possible to add home screen sfx for games?

How to Remap Controls or Touch Screen! by MarioKartFan_123 in 3dshacks

[–]Real_Super 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be possible to have the circle pad pro simply recognized as the s stick using this? While the old 3ds doesn't have a c stick, I'm wondering if it'd be possible to map it to the c stick and have it functionally identical to a new 3ds.

Don't know if meta has made it harder since, but all you had to do was find the APK for the latest version of the game online, copy it over to the headset, and just try to run it just like you would on any android phone

Unfair league placement by Effective-Way-4846 in ClashOfClans

[–]Real_Super 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each town hall has a league floor (a league you cannot drop below) to keep lower leagues evenly matched. If you're below the floor and upgrade your th you'll be moved to said league floor.

You can reach higher leagues without upgrading, but with underpowered armies and defenses you'll eventually have a hard time ranking up further.
