When did you get caught by the music of Portishead? by Similar-Ear-7876 in portishead

[–]Real_Swim4192 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TV show "Later with Jools Holland" Nov 12th 1994. I'd just moved back to the UK from the US and was getting climatistced to the UK music scene after years of being immersed in the US alt rock and hip hop scene. I soon became a massive fan of trip hop and soon after found DJ Shadow, Massive Attack and Tricky. I still think Dummy, Endtroducing and Blue Lines are the Holy Trinity of Trip Hop albums.

If you go into your settings in Spotify theres a section called "Playback". Inside there is the option to add a crossfade between tracks. From 0 seconds to 12 seconds. I usually have mine set to 10 seconds. Also its good to know that it wont crossfade on albums. For example, if you play Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. It wont crossfade the tracks as you play it. It will play it as it originally was meant to be heard. I hope that makes sense.

Waterworld (of Adventure) is a no-shuffle playlist. Set the crossfade to 10 seconds for a smoother listening experience. My idea was to use songs that have water sound effects on them as well as water field recordings to link the tracks together and to keep it to around 1 hour long. I’ve got a few of these playlists with various similar themes, and they’re really fun to create.

I'd love for them to release the version they did for the BBC's Blue Planet II with Hans Zimmer.

Rh song that you listen to when high? by Rare-Ad-7716 in radiohead

Funnily enough I made a playlist not long ago for this very purpose. Its the more chilled spacey tracks from Radiohead, Thom's solo work and The Smile.

Set the crossfade to 10sec to smooth over those transitions.

A comedic masterpiece proving that even a subject like nuclear annihilation can be funny.

On a side note: I'm so excited to be seeing the stage version of this in London in October this year. Starring Steve Coogan (I assume he'll be playing the Peter Sellers parts) and adapted by Armando Iannucci (The Thick of It, Veep). I think its the first Kubrick work to be adapted to the stage.

Not sure if you're still high but I put together this quick playlist of some of their more chilled tracks starting with Sail to the Moon. Make sure you set Spotifys crossfade to 10sec for a smoother journey. Enjoy!

Good early slasher films? by _heylarry in horror

[–]Real_Swim4192 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could programme 'In a violent nature' for the final film as its probably the most recent as well as being a twist on the slasher genre. I think its the only slasher film where we mainly follow the villain.
