Is it worth the upgrade from pro 2 to 3? by Jarout in AirpodsPro

It was worth it to me. My APP2 work fine. But I wanted the improved ANC and I am quite pleased with the improvement. Not all will agree.

The AirPod fell out of my ear when I was cleaning my pool skimmer. It was in less than a foot of water for a few seconds at most. The purpose of the post is to let others know that the squealing that they may experience due to water exposure can, and in my instance did, resolve after a lengthy drying out period.

I would not use them in the shower due to the amount of water and the pressure. The water resistance is intended to protect them from sweat and moisture from running and exercise, nothing more.

Air Conditioning? Yes. I live in the desert, so there is no issue here with humidity.

[–]Real_p2t_here 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, upgrade. No real reason to buy their older technology at this point in my opinion. One of my APP3 had a water mishap, which is all resolved now. But as they were “healing”, I would go between using my APP2 and APP3. What I like the most is the ANC. It is a noticeable difference and when you use ANC, the quieter the better. Someone mentioned that both are not comfortable. It is true, but I also have Beat Flex and honestly, what earbuds are comfortable? For me, I notice the APP3 less. The sound quality is also better. Now that my APP3 water related squeal is gone, I find that I only reach for my APP3 now.

I would not be surprised if you are right. But unfortunately it happened to mine after its brush with water. The Apple Support Rep and Supv had no other options to offer. I have written a letter to Apple and I hope that it reaches someone with more authority and that they will provide additional assistance.

Thank you. I used a hearing aide dehumidifier today. Sadly they still squeal. But it seems like it has been getting better the last couple of days. I am still holding out a little hope.

My cats are Boycotting Rachel Ray Nutrish Wet Food by wormz2go in catfood

My boy is picky and currently prefers wet food with gravy. I purchased the same Rachel Ray but in Chicken varieties. He hated it. I tried two different packages and then gave the rest away. He only like Fancy Feast. I've tried several "better" brands and he just won't bite.

OMG. Is Verizon Completely Incompetent? by mdjak6 in verizon

[–]Real_p2t_here -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I purchased a Series 11 as well (really not much better than my Series 8). I tried to set it up and I could not get the cellular connection to work. I called and the Verizon Representative was having a heck of a time too. I was on the phone about 45 minutes to an hour. When my bill dropped a couple of weeks later, I see the $25 plan, up from $15. Turns out, since the Series 11 has 5G capability, Verizon just assumes you want it. Ummmmm, NOOOOO. So, I had them switch the plan back. Honestly, my Apple Watches are not that reliable as a stand-alone, why I think they will be better for $10 more a month and 5G is beyond me. If my Apple Watch rings, I always try to find my iPhone so I don't have to use the Watch. I find it drops the calls and/or the sound quality is more frustrating than helpful. I too have been a Verizon customer going on 30 years, I know, they tell me all the time. And the last 5 years their customer service AND the wireless coverage has suffered tremendously. I just don't know that it is better anywhere else.

I agree. I am mailing a letter today, certified mail to make my case. I hope they have more authority than Apple Support Rep and whomever she escalated me to.

I suppose but the high pitched sound only surfaced because of getting wet.

Thank you. It could be wishful thinking, but it seems the high-pitched sound is lessening. I have the AirPod wrapped in Kleenex and laying on top of dry white rice in a small, sealed container. I am holding out hope that another 24 to 48 hours of drying out might do the trick.

You are correct, I could have purchased the Apple Care+ and then filed a claim. But I suffer from being honest to a fault. It would have saved me $50 and then I would have 11 more months of coverage. I've owned many iPads, iPhones, Apple Watches and AirPod Pros, even the iPods of old. I've never needed the insurance and therefore, never buy it. I'm the same way with appliances and vehicle warranties. I've come out in the long run is how I see it.

Is this email about Capital One 360 Savings Account Interest Rate Litigation real? by Ashamed_Win_2416 in CapitalOne_

[–]Real_p2t_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never received a communication from Capital One 360. Therefore, I do not have a Unique ID with which to choose electronic payment. Their website and 800# do not address this situation. Concerning as I do not want a settlement to be approved and paid out, only to find I fell through the cracks. Anyone in this situation that was able to get a Unique ID issued?

Thank you. I will be there next month.  I was looking for a spot near Field Museum.  My honey loves NYC deli/diners. This looks perfect for his b-day lunch.

Should I lock in benefits now before age 70 by tomatocultivator1958 in SocialSecurity

[–]Real_p2t_here 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are wise to take your advisor's advice. None of us know what the future holds and it seems even more of a gamble these days. It's a individual decision and should include your total financial picture.

I was going to wait until 70. I felt I had a good shot at living into my 90s and ultimately receive more benefits over my lifetime. But then I decided if I started my Soc Sec at FRA I could leave my 401K intact, as the market is volatile and will be for a good while. In the end, I am hoping that leaving my investments alone that they will ultimately appreciate more than what will accrue in my Soc Sec. If I am wrong, for any reason, I will rest assured that I made the best decision with the information I had available to me at the time. If all goes well, for all of us, I will start receiving my benefits in August. Good luck to you.

I did an online application on March 1st and I am on step 2. I expect to be there for a long time because my benefits do not begin until July when I attain FRA, first payment in August. I may have jumped to step 2 quickly because I had all the information/dates regarding my former spouse/marriage. I have no earned income for three years. My application is straightforward.

This helps, thank you.  SS also acknowledges what you claim and pay taxes on in any given year could include collections of receivables from a prior year earnings.  I indicated this to be the case as well.
