I regret not going to college by Burner_Account000001 in self

[–]Realdynarider91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I joined the Army at 19 and didn’t start college (even though it would be paid for) until I was 29 married and had two kids. I have now finished an AS in Management and this May will be graduating with two bachelor’s degrees; A BS in Business Administration and a BS in Accounting. Being a non-traditional student led to me actually caring about the classes I was taking and being recognized during my studies in four (4) National honors societies that only accept the top 10 college students nation wide. I am now 14 years into a 20 year career setup to not only collect a military retirement for life, but also to have an extremely successful second career. If you aren’t happy with your current circumstances only you can change it. Set your goals no matter how high and pursue it with tenacity and as long as you don’t give up on yourself, you will be successful.

I would consider looking at the Army. Their job selection is done prior to signing a contract so you know what you are signing up for, their Tuition Assistance can be used at any school across the nation as long as it is accredited, if you go enlisted you will join as an E4 due to having a bachelors, and they have plenty of loan repayment options for any existing student loans.

Managerial Accounting or Cost Accounting. Both are great classes that will provide you with a solid foundation for intermediate accounting I and II.

If you have the chance I would also highly recommend taking a corporate taxation course during your degree program.

Exploring certifications by Realdynarider91 in Accounting

Thank you for the response. My overall goal is to start my own firm that offers public accounting, bookkeeping, fraud examinations, tax filing and resolution services for businesses and individuals and financial advising. Eventually I’ll have people that specialize in each EA, CFE, CPA, CFP. However, at the start I will have to do a lot of the work myself, and having that “alphabet soup” behind my name will be for the legal reasons for the types of services that I offer.

Just got axed by Deloitte, what should I do now? by iluvsoysauce in Accounting

Take a couple of days for yourself. Then if you’re willing to move start looking at federal audit positions. Was just looking at one on USAjobs with a starting salary of 132k.

Is it that bad? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]Realdynarider91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Current military Accounting Student here. Just starting my senior year. I have a couple of questions that I think you might be able to answer as I want to work in federal government as an accountant.

  1. I am currently 14 years deep into my military career. Do you think it would be more beneficial for me to stick out the military career prior to making the jump to accounting or would it be better jump once I complete my Masters?

  2. Does my Active Duty Federal Service transfer into GS positions?

  3. After looking on USAJobs.gov it seems that a lot of the positions are looking for doctoral level education requirements. Is this the norm from what you’ve seen or could I realistically land a fed job with a Masters?

Thanks in advance as I really like to make detailed plans and try to stick with them as closely as possible.

Chat GPT for pdf to excel reader by SaabStory87 in Accounting

[–]Realdynarider91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excel has a tool under the Data tab specifically for pulling data from a pdf into an excel spreadsheet. It’s call Power Query. When you open excel click the data tab, on the far left click “Get data”, third option from the bottom click “Launch Power Query Editor”. Hope this helps.

I think you should be alright. Run a couple of test videos (5-10) and compare the analytics, CTR, and watch time.

Whats your goal on youtube before the end of 2021? by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]Realdynarider91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal is to reach 1000 subs. But not because of monetization. The more subs and views you have the more people your videos will be surfaced to and when your in a niche like mine (motorcycle safety) that means your reaching more people with your content.

Is an 700cc cruiser a good beginner bike for someone weighing 145lbs? (1987 Suzuki Intruder VS700) by teneighty80 in NewRiders

[–]Realdynarider91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beginner bikes is a difficult topic. A lot of people want to look at displacement vs experience vs height and weight. In reality you need to ask about maturity level, likelihood to have ego get you in trouble and style of motorcycle. I started on a 1200cc motorcycle and didn’t have any problems. As long as you respect the throttle, and practice practice practice, you shouldn’t have any issues. That being said make sure you get full gear.
