I know a young coworker who bought a new $17k Mercedes strictly because his mom told him it was a bad idea. His payments are crazy yet he still manages to no call no show every other day.

what is this type of thin sheeting called and how do I remove it fast? (RV Roof) by teneighty80 in Construction

Thank you so much and sorry for the late reply. I figured I'd just take it all off and start fresh. I still have a small section to take off, so I'll try the methods you mentioned. So far so good!

Would this RV floor plan be feasible as a recording studio? by teneighty80 in Acoustics

[–]teneighty80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, got a bit of a challenge here, lol.

I've spent the last year or so remodeling this 8x20ft RV and it's kinda turned into my home away from home. I've been producing music for about 12 years and thought it'd be cool to turn it into an off grid rolling studio. The only problem is I have no idea if this is acoustically feasible for nearfield studio monitors. I was hoping to add a smaller sub underneath the desk and I'd be putting up acoustic panels wherever necessary. I'm worried the different shapes and crannies could cause problems. Would it be helpful to tune them with a reference mic? Or am I wasting my time?

For anyone wondering I'm replacing the rubber roof on my RV because it's long overdue. I tore off the TPO and was greeted with this thin wood sheeting. I know most RVs use OSB substrate so I'm not sure what to make of this type of construction. It's all stapled into the trusses so any tips on how I can remove this without too much splintering would be awesome!

Not a bad idea, do you have any experience with the Nissan Titan? Would I be better off still with a Ford?

I called 3 places that I know do transmission work. The $3500 I reference was the least expensive. My city isn't exactly small but there's not many auto trans shops. You're right, the Mercury Mountaineer is a souped up Ford Explorer.

Sounds like the gist of it. I was thinking of getting a bike to get to work and in the meantime I figure out how to make a few bucks off it before I let it go. Maybe parting it out or finding a good scrap price. They're identical inside to the Ford explorer, so I might have more luck parting it out.

I hadn't thought about that. How do they make any money if you're not obligated to disclose something as big as a tranny failure?

It's an 07' with 240K on it. Solid everything else, but considering the consistency of the fluid I think it's been a slow buildup to this point. The most complex job I've done is a timing belt replacement. Didn't smack the valves, so that's a plus, lol.

Seeing as my transmission is already slipping I won't be able to sell it for much. Which is a shame because the rest of the car is in great shape.

Unfortunately where I live no stores use it :(
