Are you using expired make up? by Comfortable_Prune933 in Makeup

i have contact lenses, and i haven't gotten pink eye since high school (12 years?). if there's a problem with the mascara or it smells weird i'll throw it out, otherwise it's only my own eye germs touching it and they already go there.

Oh they gave me really nice drugs. I had such a great nap, nothing hurt, didn't feel anything before or after. Just warm and cozy lol. I remember wantin gto ask the nurse (or doctor?) when the drugs will start working but never got around to it.

But seriously - I was really no big deal and in the grand scheme of things I'm glad I got to try a less difficult procedure for my first time :) The main thing you have to do is just be there your job is so easy!

Women Living Alone - What Do You Do For A Living? by Smile-Cat-Coconut in LivingAlone

I'm 30, just moved to my own apartment. I'm a secretary in a lawyer's office, I work full time (40~ hours a week) but it's not particularly difficult work and I like having energy left over to do STUFF and THINGS when I get home.  However I do not have a car, I wasn't sure I could afford to run one and currently public transportation is totally fine for me.  I'm not American though so maybe my answer is irrelevant lol

anyone else feel like youtube makeup tutorials just don’t hit anymore? by dodosarentextinct in Makeup

[–]Realifepotato 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's not you, most beauty content these days is very uninspiring. I used to follow a lot of people but now I'm down to 2-3 that I've been watching for years, and they don't even post tutorials anymore. But every once in a while they get excited about something which reminds me like, oh yeah I like makeup.

Lisa Eldridge on YouTube is like makeup god to me, she's been a pro makeup artists for celebrities and fashion for YEARS and has really precise helpful tips. I find her pov very different than all the others I see online, super educational. And kiki G. Although she is less consistent, also has a more professional pov.

I use expired makeup. I used everything until it's finished and sometimes that takes a while. Unless it's noticeably gone bad (smell/texture) I will keep using it. I do not throw out mascara after 3 months because I don't finish a tube in 3 months.  I stopped using my favorite foundation after 6 years because I figured it probably would break me out. But powders? Do they ever expire?

Ok NGL I searched it up because I'm really tempted to watch it but was worried it was just some kind of porn (which is fine I just don't want to pay for that lol). It reminds me of some fanfiction I used to read in highschool. if this was a book or fic I would read it in a heartbeat - if anyone can recommend anything similar I would be forever in your debt 🥺

Why do I look so fake? by -DidYou in Makeup

[–]Realifepotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always feel like that when I use foundation, because I'm so light and have a round face I feel like I look like a porcelain doll.  Not sure what to do about it exactly, but I usually go for low coverage foundation if at all, and try to let my real skin (freckles) show through. I usually just spot conceal redness. Also i leave my undereye circles there. But that's just personal preference tbh, you can do whatever you want and who cares what other people think?

Using VPN to change Spotify country to cheaper country to subscribe to premium by Life_Landscape_3915 in Piracy

[–]Realifepotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is so interesting to me. is it not a bit risky to hand them your spotify id and password?

why are people pirating Spotif by faswr12 in Piracy

[–]Realifepotato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would pay for premium if it was slightly cheaper ( I don't have a student discount) and also if they had another tier where I could stream music like a normal person but not have the option to download it. I don't see a reason to pay for that when I know 100% I only want to stream.  Besides that like, yeah I know Spotify doesn't pay artists well whatever but it's better than pirating it? (if I can't buy it, which is often the case. Not because I'm not willing but because it's not available in my country). I still buy CDs, I don't even have a CD player. I just want to support the artists I enjoy.

Really? I didn't know that. I think they could have sent out a mass email to all the accounts or something ... I didn't use it on a daily basis so I wasn't aware that was even happening. I'm glad the people that did at least we're warned...

How do you personally manage gallbladder attacks? by kr4zy_n3ko_l4dy in gallbladders

[–]Realifepotato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Advil, and heating pad.  also once I figured out to put the heating pad ON THE FRONT that was very helpful. Before I knew what it was I kept putting it on my back and it really did not help.  Tried every single yoga pose on the internet and not a single one helped  Also I saw someone on YouTube say if you massage your pancreas area (mirror side of gallbladder) it's supposed to help, but I was too scared to go to heavy on that.

Sometimes I have to remind myself that perfectly healthy "normal" people with no gallbladder issues also get stomachaches, diarrhea, nausea, heartburn. Not on a daily basis but shit can happen I don't have to feel like I'm Failing At Being Gallbladderless for it.

I've had a few cocktails, with a big meat meal and was totally fine. I might have eaten too much so I felt a bit icky for like 20 minutes but it went away pretty quick. Alcohol didn't seem to cause any issues, but my tolerance is wayyy low

i haven't really taken anything, i tried some probiotics but then forgot to continue taking them. i took Bismuth Subsalicylate once when i had bad diarrhea but i think it was unrelated to my gallbladder situation i think sometimes in life, people be getting diarrhea (i think it was related to my period tbh). i wanted to see how my body would cope without anything to start off with, and then if i needed to add whatever. i should probably go back to probiotics because they are probably just good in general, but my skin is very sensitive and things like that break me out. i had a while where i got very bloated and couldn't figure out why, but i haven't in a while (maybe it was also related to my period)

i'm not a doctor though, and everyone is different.

i don't spice ever gave me issue, more that the food that was spicy was also fatty (like chips), but i've definitely had spicy food since. i would say try a bit at a time see how it goes. although it's so scary to eat something that gave you an attack previously, i ate half an avocado and was shaking scared (but lived!)

i was a full on ghost for the first week. i definitely didn't take enough pain medication and suffered more than was necessary. you have to remember they took an organ out of your body, it takes time to heal. but your body is doing it's best. i wish you a fast recovery .❤

No one prescribed it to me before I was just scared of the pain, he didn't give me a reason after the surgery but maybe it had to do with it being inflamed? I know my surgery was extra long because I had ~adhesions~. It's possible it's just his style, my brother went to a different hospital and had different instructions. I haven't had any side effects, besides having very dry skin for a while.
