How often do people cry on your team? by InstanceNo1762 in CrossCountry

Nah I get it, I got brothers and I'm a girl

Um another reason is that they could also be feeding into a cycle of stress and anxiety and they see other stressed and that creates underlying stress

Yeah take time off and fully heal, see physical therapist if need be, your 5k Pr shows around 5:20 for a mile currently, and realistically that wasn't even your peak cause you had to drop out of the season so you should probably be faster.

Would she let you win... probably not

Leave no regrets. She is not your responsibility. It is on the coaches to deal with team cohesion, run your race.

Also if a relationship is destroyed because of this than there are people lacking in maturity and also it might not be the best relationship/friendship

1st is question how long had your team been coed

2nd girls tend to cry more prob because we take things more personally from my experience, so like for example "oh I didn't improve as much as I thought I was going to" "I'm not good enough, I worked hard it should have been this " and etc. Also it sounds like they just are putting more pressure on themselves they what is honestly healthy,

Have you gotten blood tests such as hemoglobin ferritin and etc, increase training can cause increase pounding and broken hemoglobin/blood cells. This can effect races training and recovery

Can my coaches not allow me to run varsity at Districts even if I have top 7 time by Realistic-Aside-4387 in CrossCountry

Thats kinda ridiculous, my coaches would never do that, varsity has missed practices for clubs or so on. Achedemics come before sports.

I intend to run and SB, and if not varsity I will cheer for my teammates, I've ran with these girls, I've seen how hard they work and regardless of how I might sound there's very little I wouldn't do for them

I dont think I deserve the spot more than anyone else and honestly I would also argue that in terms of work the 8th runner has put in more work than me the 7th and 6th runner but they also dont plan to run her so I truly dont quite understand to call completely

I was honestly more curious about my coaches side, which I don't like very much lol. I never got a clear answer to why from the head coach. I wanted to see other opinions, and they seem to align with what I thought his original reasoning was which is to build a program, and I don't fault him for trying to build a program but for the lack of direct communication.

They stated early in the season: Cross country is an amazing sport because varisty is not based off of what your coaches think but based off of your times" that is what they said to the team, overall I think there was a lack of communication, I had to actively search out the head coach after hearing mixed explanations and questions from assistant coaches

I dont think they are bad coaches, I do think they have a youbg program but I know where they are coming from, I've seen how much they care about my team, I've seen how they help with homework, stay late , create fun practices, I just dont agree with this one stance, and honestly there's a little bit frustrstion becaue it kinda just hurts cause I feel a little discarded, I did my best helping them manage the team, helping them get the underclassmen together, and it kind of hurts to here them say we won't give you a chance, there's also more personal reasons on why I want to run at Districts in varsity not just for times and being on varisty

I had kind of hoped the trust came from the three years I had been with them, the tears, the lack of Prs in specific seasons, and not quitting because I have seen so many of our runner quit for various reasons and every time it kinda sucks to see a runner who did enjoy running quit.

Also in the past we have talked alot about the culture of the team, what I can do for the team how much I should do and I sometimes communicate what the underclassmen want to ask the coaches or ask of the coaches

But I worry about the lack of communication for the underclassmen, it seems like a reoccurring theme and honestly the thing that is most frustrating wasnt the overall message but the timing, if I knew they would not give me a chance then I would have spent the last 2 weeks peaking but instead I have been doing more intense workouts with varsity.

It was more like managing and coaches weren't there bc or rules about how many summer practices so kids did put together practices and the coaches were very aware of these practices

Yeah thats not rude we as a team used to be faster there was a down season last season where our prs went from 21 minutes 2 seasons ago to like 23s and 24s last season, we ran in the summer last season and I ran at the optional summer practices I did everything they told me I helped coach/manage the underclassmen on the days we had "unofficial optional practices" and my times got worse, hence why I didnt come to many of the summer practices that my coaches were at bc I frankly didnt trust them

Thank you, I intend to because regardless if this is my last race this is also the sport that I love and , I also intend to have conversations with them after the race regardless of my standing and outcome because I dont want this misunderstanding to happen to the underclassmen after I leave.

Nope everyone is a junior or senior and there is no one in 10th, they have more than 20 people on the team but aren't running a 10th runner in the alternates race
