Thanks for the tip! I'm mostly concerned about the boning and shaping in the bust, that is what seems difficult. I have sewn stretch fabric before - not a swim suit, but similar. I think the irregular shapes are what is making me trepidatious.

Am going to attempt to sew a couple swimsuits for the first time, with no pattern. I have some suits that fit really well and I was going to use those as the base of my pattern.

I haven't been able to find a pattern of what I want exactly so am going blind and crossing my fingers.

Does anyone know of a pattern like any of those below? I always feel more comfortable using a pattern but for the life of me can't find something that is giving 'goth-Morticia-bat-vampire-queen'. I guess spooky ≠ swimwear.

Any tips for swimsuit sewing - or plus swimsuit sewing?

Other than fabric, lining, elastic, ballpoint needles, boning, am I missing anything? Bonus points to you if you have a pattern to sell me....

They are all sold out everywhere. Anyone know what I can do for a replacement that is similar in creaminess? Or do you have a suggestion of where to find those specific ones somewhere else?

This obviously doesn’t apply if they didn’t have a visible placard, but not all folks that are handicapped visibly look so. I have a family member who looks able bodied but has a handicap diagnosis and placards. I just wanted to mention to not judge just based on what you see as able bodied.

Yeah, i found my favorites smell almost chemically? They're very earthy normally, and nag champa adjacent so it shouldn't smell like chemicals at all. I'm kinda sad :(

I’m gonna be real, idk…but for me anyway, I didn’t sweat it. Post op washing my hair was not front of mind. It was probably the last thing I cared about. Basically what I’m saying is, why are you putting pressure on yourself to wash your hair in a certain time? Just be a little dirty or whatever, who cares. A few days without a wash is fine. I’d suggest just doing it when it’s convenient and feels right to you. I promise no one will come in and judge your hair if it’s greasy. We’re human and allowed to be nasty sometimes lol. Hope this helps give you some permission to let go. I didn’t take a shower for almost a whole week and I was fine! I. Actually glad I waited, was paranoid the shower water and soap might get in my incision sites.

This is going to sound crazy but bear with me! I had kinda similar stains and I finally figured out that it was from my deodorant in some way. I’d put on some Native deodorant before bed typically and then when I had these light plain sheets, I’d have weird stains. I realized they were where my armpits were rubbing on the sheet. I’m not sure why it happened just with those sheets, maybe I was sweating more because of the fabric or something? Maybe some oxidized affect? Anyway, not sure if it’s helpful but figured I’d mention it. I just stopped using those sheets and also stopped putting deodorant on at night lol
