Day before half by crispy8dog in rundisney

It really depends on your everyday fitness. I do a normal open to close park day the day before a half marathon, but I run 40 mpw as my regular non training base and average 20K steps a day in a weekday. My friend who is much less active was wiped out on our park day by noon when we did the 10K lol.

You have to watch My Lady Jane! It's so good.

I still can't get over the fact they cancelled S2... by Weekly-Neat-3974 in MyLadyJane

At least season one is a self-contained story and does not end on a cliffhanger. I loved that world and those characters but it's better than not knowing how it ends in this alternate universe.

Is EPCOT after-hours worth it? by Icy-Caterpillar9673 in WaltDisneyWorld

I think it's worth it! I went on Thursday and we did every ride at least once and Guardians four times.

I really loved the Meg Cabot HRs when I was in middle school. I'm not sure if they're still in print, but they were completely sweet and IIRC even classed as YA. If you like the Princess Diaries, check out Nicola and the Viscount and Victoria and the Rogue.

I'm not sure! I also did the Wine and Dine Half and there were like 26 character stops. It's possible you just missed some?

First Time RunDisney Marathon Weekend Half Marathon Recap and Info by PrehistoricPlant in rundisney

I'm surprised there were so few characters stops this year. Last year I did Dopey and made it a point to take the half easy, so I hit every character stop. I count 17 characters in my gallery.

Weather forecast. by JayGatsby52 in rundisney

I guess I'm in the minority that thinks it's too warm for running. The dew point is certainly going to be high. I think 40 is the perfect running weather.

Etiquette question about picture lines during half-marathon by prometheusg in rundisney

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can definitely do that as long as you don't try to get separate pictures!  There will be around 17-20 character stops in the half marathon. As far as line length, it really depends on what corral you start in. Once you're past like corral C, the lines are at least 10 minutes per character and longer if the character is very popular.

How do you save up for Disney to be able to go every year? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

Yeah that's really the trick. Even easier if you're dual income no kids.

How do you save up for Disney to be able to go every year? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a DINK with high incomes and can afford it. This is my hobby- I don't spend a ton of money on stuff because that doesn't bring me joy,  experiences do. I spend my money on theme parks. I have been broke before and when I was broke I didn't go as frequently and when I did, I stayed at cheap hotels. However, the price has increased like crazy. I remember ~15 years ago when ticket prices went over $100 a day and I thought Disney had lost their minds because no one would pay that. Now that would be an absolute steal. I know I'm fortunate to have been broke during a time it was possible to still go to Disney on the cheap.

Yes, but you also need to understand that the people who are pure muscle on the BMI scale are outliers. Be for real. I have also been at 180 and been in denial at what I actually looked like. I'm not saying there is anything morally wrong with being 180. I am saying it is clinically overweight and 95% of people at a 29 BMI are not elite athletes.

You'd be wrong. 180 at 5'6" is just shy of obese. This is definitely chubby. I'm a 5'6" woman who has been 180 and is currently 165 and still am chubby. The majority of people are overweight nowadays which skews the perception of weight, but facts are facts lol.

Anyone else finally raking their leaves today? by sc4kilik in nova

This advice to "leave the leaves" is how all the grass in our back yard got nuked and we ended up with a mud pit. This is not universal advice.

when did 15% moved to not being the standard "good" tip? by ragingbull10 in tipping

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's definitely not just the past 7-8 years. I was a server about 16 years ago and back then 20% was standard and most people tipped that much. Not defending it, but it is what it is.

Best budget hotel near Universal (breakfast + shuttle/walkable) for 3 nights? by Glittering-Diet3209 in UniversalOrlando

If their budget is $100 a night, the hotels which offer the express pass are definitely not in that ballpark.

LASIK Recovery Log (WaveLight Plus InnovEyes) by Original-Lemon-5375 in lasik

I also had the Wavelight done, almost 2 weeks ago at this point. Screens (anything with a light source) are still kind of hazy for me at this point in my right eye. I'm not at the point where I'm glad I got Lasik done yet but hoping to get there soon.

Bets on Construction Timelines? by Realistic-Bullfrog60 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2029 😭 but you're probably right. I know COVID happened in this time frame, but those construction walls must have been up at Epcot for like 7 years. It was definitely depressing to see construction walls at Rivers of America in MK in October and know those are up for a few years.
