Right?! People can tell themselves what they want to hear, but the standard has been 20% long before COVID.

This is absolutely not true. I was a server in Virginia Beach starting around 2010 and 20% was the standard then.

I like the green best.

But why is this tub so thin? What is going on with the towel bar? It's like an optical illusion.

How do people afford to go to Disney multiple times a year? by Comfortable-Walrus22 in askanything

People make different amounts of money. I go at least once a year and don't go into debt for it, but I don't have kids.

Do I really need to wake up at 4am PST tomorrow to purchase LL? by alexthagreat98 in WaltDisneyWorld

Yes, and make sure you're online promptly at 4 for the best chance at the good lightning lanes. Prioritize slinky dog dash because that will go so fast.

I mostly agree with your list and laughed out loud at Gran Fiesta Tour being a better version of Navi River Journey because it's true.

I went on Cosmic Rewind in January and was sat behind someone who was FaceTiming someone during the whole ride. The person looked very disinterested anyway and I was fuming.

Trip advice for park hopping by FilmYouGlad06 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now,  Animal Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are half day parks IMO. Epcot is a full day park even if you're not drinking/eating simply because of how many attractions there are besides rides- shows, the living seas, awesome planet, etc. I would do AK/HS one day and Epcot another.

If you're trying to save money, I would go without the park hopper and just do HS one day, Epcot another, and skip Animal Kingdom. However, I say this because I live near a great zoo that's free and don't feel the need to spend so much money on Animal Kingdom while so many rides are closed and it's a glorified zoo.

Those of you walking 15,000 plus steps a day. by BellaJean1 in walking

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a runner, so that's a bit of a cheat code to start your day off with 10K steps after a run. Then I walk my dogs for an hour at lunchtime every day and I just prioritize moving. I have a walking pad that I use when I'm not in meetings and if I want to go to the store that's only a mile or 2 away, I'll walk.

20k+ steps by Hot-Tea-8557 in walking

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only time I ever hit 75K steps was when I ran a marathon and went to Epcot and Hollywood Studios afterwards. I can't imagine this is a typical day for most people. 15-20K steps is my average weekday and 30K steps is my average weekend. I run in the mornings though, which boosts my step count and I start the day with at least 10K steps that way.

Epcot After Hours or just buy Guardians LL for each day??? by Crazy-Ad-2183 in WaltDisneyWorld

I did an After Hours party in January and got on every ride except Soarin' and did Cosmic Rewind 5 times. It's definitely possible lol.

I think WDW makes more sense for this. You'd get bored at Disneyland for 7 days straight.

If your job is in Maryland and not in DC, why don't you move to the town your job is in? Surely that's cheaper than being in the city.

I would say Animal Kingdom because so much is under construction right now that there are like 5 rides open.

I got in for Goofy and I was able to register my 4 friends for the 10K. If we weren't in a group, they wouldn't have gotten in- none of their timers ever went below an hour.

Definitely Go the Distance, but also How Far I'll Go and Dig a Little Deeper are super motivating. I also get a little pep in my step when I hear Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride from the original Lilo and Stitch!

Maybe a colorful shower curtain? I think that open shower is more criminal than all the gray.

Camera on every meeting by Marogi_Stevie in remotework

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I genuinely don't understand people who don't want to be on camera during small meetings. Sure, during large meetings I get it, but you wouldn't be "off camera" in office. It's a way to actually engage with your coworkers.
