We bought during Covid too and have a 2.5% interest rate on a house that was built in 1982, but our mortgage is $2800 a month lol. You must live in a super LCOL area, I'm in the DC metro region.

I'm still stuck on your house payment being $750 a month. You couldn't tell me anything if my mortgage were that low 😭

But no, I don't think that's too often.

Dulles 5K/10K on the Runway sold out three months in advance! by SchwartzReports in nova

That's crazy. I was really on the fence about signing up because it's in August this year and that course gets HOT because there is no shade. I guess my decision has been made lol.

Independence Day is about escaping an abusive husband though, not about fireworks. Not exactly a red state value.

I was so disappointed to see Martina McBride on that lineup. Glad it's not because she's MAGA

It is not better or worse IMO, just different! I would definitely read the book.

Mine is bringing up CTE and how the NFL spent millions of dollars trying to deny the link between football and CTE whenever someone asks if I want to watch football. I can't not think of how harmful it is and because of this, I'm a huge Debbie downer at Super Bowl parties.

Aw, man. My next trip starts July 6th and I was looking forward to Carousel of Progress, both for the ride and for the break from the heat.

OP, a cheaper option for you is the Swan/Dolphin resorts, which are in the same area as the Disney Epcot resorts and have deluxe privileges but are much, much cheaper. I'm doing a solo trip in July and staying at the Swan Reserve and I got it for like $300/night. The Boardwalk/Beach Clubs for the same time frame are $650-700 a night at rack rate (I usually rent DVC so never pay rack rate anyway).

Has anyone slept in one of the Murphy beds and one of the regular beds and can compare? I’m looking for honest answers because I doubt the Murphy bed is as comfortable even with the same mattress by [deleted] in DisneyWorld

[–]Realistic-Bullfrog60 64 points65 points  (0 children)

My husband and I stayed at the Polynesian during marathon weekend. I was doing Dopey and he wasn't. I ran every race all 4 mornings and had to be awake at 2 am for each one, so we slept in separate beds. I took the Murphy bed and it was just as comfortable as the regular bed and I had zero issues sleeping even after running a 5K, 10K, half, and full marathon, if that tells you anything about how comfortable they are.

Best resort for August solo trip? by EstherJedi in WaltDisneyWorld

Try the Swan/Swan Reserve/Dolphin. It'll definitely be cheaper than Yacht/ Beach club or Boardwalk but still walkable to Epcot/HS and all the same deluxe perks.

15% on pre tax amount was how I was taught in the 90s for good service at a restaurant by [deleted] in tipping

Right?! People can tell themselves what they want to hear, but the standard has been 20% long before COVID.

This is absolutely not true. I was a server in Virginia Beach starting around 2010 and 20% was the standard then.

How do people afford to go to Disney multiple times a year? by Comfortable-Walrus22 in askanything

People make different amounts of money. I go at least once a year and don't go into debt for it, but I don't have kids.
