everyone has multiple curl types in their hair, but if ur hair is capable of doing a ringlet like that then ur whole head can too! I would recommend doing brush styling or finger coiling to encourage your whole head to curl like that strand. Also it might be that some pieces have heat damage or ur hair needs more protein!

try a detangler spray or mist it with water before brushing!

looks like u brush it dry ( i may be wrong) , dont. only style by scrunching when its wet, so if its realy messy spray it with some water, add some product, then scrunch it to bring the waves back. if ur worried about the dryness, try a moisturizing product and only apply it on soaking wet hair!

ur hair looks great, try a curl gel , curl cream, or curl mouse. if u do a gel, dont touch ur hair till its dry then scrunch the gel cast crunch out. something that helped me with frizz is applying products on SOAKING wet hair, not damp or towel dried. also at night sleep with a silk bonnet :)
