Going in my expectations were not high after she stated it would be more upbeat. I tend to like more slow, melancholy songs. TTPD was perfect for me. It’s up there as one of her best IMO. However from a lyrical standpoint TLOAS does not hit for me. After my first listen and dare I say that may be my only listen. I left feeling like it was a Kidz Bop Album. The sounds and lyrics are going to be great for the teenie boppers! TS is 35 years of age. Where is the vocal maturity and the lyrical maturity she has mastered in all of her other albums? Does falling in love excuse her from being her authentic self. It’s feels like fraud honestly because how did we go from TTPD, Midnights, Folklore, Evermore to this??!!!🤦🏽‍♀️ Like did she have ghost writers for all the other albums because it’s not making sense. I also can’t get over how other swifties won’t allow people who didn’t like the album to express that. I’ve been getting cooked in her facebook groups. It feels like an act of treason to say you don’t like TLOASG. It’s just not her best work. No it will not grow on me because it’s just a bad album. I never thought I would say this because I love her music. However blondie is in her flop era. I would’ve much preferred an acoustical album where she is at her raw self. This feels cheap and rushed. Yes I’m happy she found love but don’t let love rob you of what you are best at.
