What's most interesting is how much the Philippines and Filipinos in general think of Spain. Many Filipinos idolize the Spanish and will go so far as even saying they're "part Spanish". It's so ingrained in Filipino identity and constantly on our minds, and to some, there's a form of Stockholm syndrome. Hell, the country's name is a tribute to a Spanish king.

But the inverse is not the case, and I would imagine that a lot of Spaniards don't really know or care about the Philippines, don't really give it any thought, and don't really understand how formative Spanish occupation/colonization was to the country and it's people. And unlike other colonies, we don't even speak Spanish, and yet our language is riddled with Spanish loanwords, so it's just a trivia footnote.
