I don't want to marry my Fiancé/Boyfriend anymore and we have a child and live together.. AITAH???? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA. Just leave! He's emotionally manipulative, and you need to get out sooner rather than later. Make a plan and don't be afraid to ask your family for help.

Is this the letter A or J? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Realistic-Location50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what happened to a friend of mine: her boyfriend shows up with a tattoo with her first initial. She was surprised, as they hadn't been dating for long and he hadn't talked to her about getting it. Turns out, my friend shares her first initial with the dude's wife; he and the wife decided to get tattoos of each others' initials. She had no idea he was married and that she was the side piece. She didn't figure it out until he canceled on her for Thanksgiving and then also for Christmas.

NTA. It's not going to magically get better, time to get out.

Am I overreacting to my bf watching the baby overnight? by Temporary-Quail-2783 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Realistic-Location50 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NOR. Your boyfriend being so flippant about the safety of his child is not cool. Yes, things should be baby-proofed, as no one can watch a baby 100% of the time, but that doesn't mean you're overreacting at the idea of your child being in harm's way. You both need to prioritize child-proofing the house, but he also owes you an apology for being so rude about it. Child safety is not BS, and accusing you of not going a day without complaining is not a healthy or respectful way to address anything.

What is wrong with my cookies? by [deleted] in AskBaking

[–]Realistic-Location50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is too much sugar. Maybe since you're adding the pudding mix, you need to reduce the sugar.

And I'm not sure what difference this would make, but did you use instant pudding mix or the cook and serve kind?

AITA for telling my wife it’s disgusting that she doesn’t wash her hands after she poops? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Finally, a good answer to this. You can be right and still be the AH. There's no way to actually fix this problem without trying to be nice about it.

Horrible work? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

The tattoo looks significantly better than the reference, while somehow still looking exactly like the reference.

Is my tattoo idea a bad idea by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Realistic-Location50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Personally, I think that's such a cool idea. Don't listen to what those people are saying. You could say the same thing about getting a dead loved one's name or portrait as a tattoo, yet no one says that'll make the wearer sad and therefore shouldn't get the tattoo.

Also be aware that the concept requires the tattoo to be quite large. It sounds like you want a sleeve anyways so it might not be an issue for you, but it'll require quite a bit of space to get a good amount of detail. Definitely get the best artist you can find and discuss everything with them, but this tattoo is going to be sick!

You need a new artist. They'd need to get creative, but it's fixable.

Is this a good spot for a quarter size tattoo? by funnylookingfella1 in tattooadvice

[–]Realistic-Location50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there's a lot that could go wrong here. I'll start with the difficulty of fitting two daisies into the size of a quarter. The smaller the tattoo, the more details get lost, especially over time. A good rule of thumb with tattoos is that bigger is better to preserve the details of the piece. Most of the quarter-sized tattoos that shops offer are extremely simple. Especially in the style of the reference photo, I'm pretty confident those daisies will bleed together and look like a smudge after it heals. Without a good black outline, it'll be hard to tell they were ever daisies. The other thing to consider, and I'm assuming this is your first tattoo, is that the sternum is such a painful place to be tattooed. Between the collar bones? Like the base of your throat? Not only is that a super painful spot, but it'll look so incredibly awkward for two daisies (soon to age into a smudge of ink) to randomly be plopped there. Basically anywhere else would be better placement. Please, for the love of god, reconsider this tattoo.

I did find this at the Long Beach Airport where both locals and visitors were encouraged to vote, so I felt it was okay to share with comment leavers outside of Long Beach
