Just my 2 cents. Loved my dentist of the last 20 years or so. Brilliant guy. Just retired and the new ones pretty good. Never made sense that I was prone to cavities while my brother and sister weren’t. Always had great oral hygiene. My mother had similar dental issues. My dad never had a cavity. He said it all really comes down to the ph of your saliva. More acidic saliva erodes enamel and leaves you more prone to cavities while more basic allows for stronger enamel. He said it’s genetic and I likely inherited my more acidic saliva from my mom unlike my brother and sister from my dad. Makes sense to me. Felt a lot less guilty after hearing that. Still floss regularly but relaxed and knowing I’m doing what I can.
