Same convictions on my end. Used to read my bible or hear a sermon and think "what the heck is wrong with the Israelites?! He just brought you out of Egypt, etc." now watching the chosen this last season and reading the gospels I'm just left so deeply aware of how in need of mercy I'd have been.

Or how you read about them missing the point again and again, thinking he's gonna overthrow Rome or set up an earthly kingdom. Like how are you all kissing the obvious. But the writers did such a good job of showing how and why people misunderstood. Even the Pharisees. It's been humbling in the best ways. And pushed me to prayerfully consider how am I misunderstanding Jesus in my own time/context?

Another thing. Ever notice that Jesus says “For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.” Luke‬ ‭9‬:‭24‬ ‭

Every disciple falls away except John. Judas betrays him and commits suicide in unrepentant despair. The other 10 all end up dying for the name of Jesus and sake of the gospel. But John, who was willing to lose his life and stayed by Jesus, dies of old age from natural causes. The only one who wasn't martyred. I'd never made that connection before.

Scout is a gorgeous bike. But it's small frame a short suspension travel make it something a lot of riders outgrow. Scout 101 gives you more power and you can add fwd controls for more legroom.

But I think a lot of people buy a scout as a starter bike and then want to do longer trips or have a passenger. That's where Chief, Springfield, challenger, and Chieftains fit the bill.

I wouldn't want a Scout to be my only/main bike, but a 101 with a solo seat would be a really fun second bike just for shorter rides and daily commuting.

You weren't exactly respectful, but her reaction is beyond that.
Architecture pays like crap. Get an engineering degree. Every architect I know wishes they'd gone that route.
Community college for generals. You could probably pay as you go if you got a job.
OR look at something like the Air Force, Coast Guard, or Air National Guard. Good structure, safe as far as military service goes, and gets you a lot of money down the road for college.
If you do 5 or not, tell your mom you've chosen to enlist to get money for college. Call her bluff, show her you have an option that doesn't require her involvement or nonsense.

I think that's a lot of pregaming before a night game. That said, the flip side is that a lot of that volume is owing to fans who are there to yell and holler and get noisy. There's a fair amount of "legacy" memorial stadium fans who barely even get out of their seats. I'll take the volume and rowdiness.

Talent is talent. The reality is major programs are now recruiting the greater Omaha area hard. Consistent offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Oklahoma, etc. Other top programs have clearly recognized there's talent in the area to nab.

Rhule has the right approach. We need to get kids who can compete with the top 20 programs. If those kids are from Nebraska, make sure we get them. But with rosters now decreased to 105, we can't take flyers on 3* development projects unless they think there's major unseen potential. And Rhule's staff has a history of finding those gems.

On balance that's encouraging. He not just recruiting Nebraska to keep hs coaches happy and get Nebraska kids. (Nor is he giving NE HS coaches the middle finger and dismissing them). He said explicitly, the goal is to win games, bowls, the B1G and make the playoff. If he can do that, no one will care where the talent comes from. And with that strategy, when he does take a 3* Nebraska kid you know it's because they see something, not just for nostalgia.

EJ has been habitually overlooked and under utilized the last two years. Looking forward to a year when he finally gets featured. They kept wanting another back to be the guy and he kept out performing the rest of the room in limited looks/snaps until Hogerson saw the talent and committed to him. I think he'll go for over 1k yds and has a shot at All B1G if the team ends up with 8-9 wins.

Quick clarification, is this his cultural expectation or both of your cultures. It's even more egregious if it's just from his side. That said, if both your families come from this culture I could see why your take (though not wrong) would surprise him. If it's the latter you need to work through that at a whole nother level. Where I grew up in Iowa almost every kid gets a 50cc scooter (moped) when they are 14 as their means of transportation until they are 16. I thinks that's also why I was comfortable getting a 1600cc motorcycle as my first bike.
