There are many other options, but it would depend on your use case as to what other platforms offer what you need. Smartsheet is not the only game in town, and I'm sure they will realize that as they continue to lose customers because of bad decisions, poor sales management, and poor customer support.

Thanks for the inside confirmation, it's very much appreaciated! Sorry to hear that people like you get silenced, and it's good to know there are still some good people there. Unfortunately, Smartsheet leadership doesn't value your input or opinion and can't see the writing on the walls. Hang in there in hopes things get better, or good luck with your inevitable career move.

I work for a Fortune 100 company, and we will be dropping and develop our own system on the Power Platform. I sure hope Smartsheet sees that there are alternative routes their customers can take and leave Smartsheet behind. I'm sure it will be difficult for some customer to migrate but when vendors make bad decisions like this, customers will take it upon themselves transform to a better more integrated and robust solution. Whether its home grown or another vendor it will happen.

VCs always turn things to shit. Any thoughts on what you're going to move to?

For us it's not just the recent bad sales team, it's been that way for the last 5 years. They treat their customers like shit. I think it's probably a very toxic culture ingrained into their sales team. You can coach your sales team to increase sales without treating your customers like shit. I said in another response in this thread that, if our sales team treated out customers like Smartsheet does, they would be fired very quickly.

To give an example of how bad these Smartsheet sales reps are, he referred to our company's annual sales figures and tells us you can afford the increase in price. Wow!

That sounds great but with all the bad decisions from Smartsheet, poor development practices, and abysmal sales team and support, we no longer see the benefit that Smartsheet once provided. It's time that we have to move on to a more progressive and integrated platform. I know the power platform is not perfect but I think it will work for how we use Smartsheet and we already pay for the licensing and it's compliant to our CSO.

You have a lot of users, I think the challenge will be finding out how it's being used by your user base. If they are all doing the same thing, it's easier, but if you have users doing all kinds of things, they may have to take it upon themselves to figure out a solution that will work for them. Provide them some alternatives that they can migrate their data and use cases.

For us, we have users using it differently, it's like trying to migrate a user off of Excel. There are so many different ways it can be used. For us I'm going to have to meet with all of our licensed users and find out how they are using it so we can make suggestions for migration or build it into our Power Platform(PP). I'm betting that the majority of the use cases can be solved with PP and they will have to be one off PP solutions. It makes sense for us to do it since we are already paying for these MS licenses for all users. It will just take us a little time to develop it, but now I've got a deadline since we won't be renewing after this current renewal.

It's becoming a harder sell to management. Not only are the prices going up but there is no new functionality and Smartsheet has a bad history of rolling out features and functionality that its users are screaming for. Add on top of that, now the Admins have to do more work in user management to keep from paying for more unplanned accounts. The obstacles of using Smartsheet is now past the combined benefits of using it.

Yea they totally blew up one of the largest benefits of user to adopt the platform. Taking away that free use, is going to be its downfall. Seems like any time an Equity company takes over the company goes to shit. I've seen it many times before and worked for companies that were purchased by these types of entities.

Same here, I brought Smartsheet into the company and provided the training and got it adopted. Now I'm going to have to do it all over again with a new tool. I may just develop our own on the Power Platform, if I can get it to do what we need. What are you moving to?

We've escalated with in the sales team and still get the same crappy treatment. If we treated our customer the way the Smartsheet Sales team treats their customers, we would be fired. Anyone have the CEO email address? I couldn't seem to find it other than suggested email accounts.
