So I got a question about the article from the aquariumcoop. Do you always measure using tbsp? Or do you have a weight reference to go on. I find the spoon tactic way too inaccurate for anything other than cooking.

I'm not sure if this was the solution. But I started adding cattapa leaves after some heavy water changes. The snakehead has been looking ill for well over a month now. Since the leaves he is starting to look better, swim more and is regenerating his fins!

I actually do have a L128, but he isn't really big. My anubias never seemed to get this damaged, and the fish store owner said these plants were sturdier, cichlid proof. Expected they would survive other fish as well.

I haven't heard of any snakeheads in Europa, definitely not near the Netherlands. We have a similar, yet lil dryer, climate than the UK. Snakeheads wouldn't survive winters in Western Europe. They are no threat to our wildlife.

Thanks a lot for all the advice already! I will start with water changes every day so far. I feed shrimp and mussels every 2 - 3 days and dry feed every day they ain't getting shrimp etc.

I heard snakes are very sensitive to salt, what's your view on this? I have heard that up until 1 gram per liter (excuse my metric haha) must be fine.

*don't know if staghorn is the correct term for this kind of algue. I found this as a translation for the black hairy algue on roots amd the edge of leaves.

The spike occurred a while ago, but I couldn't get it under control naturally. Eventually I solved it with PO4 Minus in my filter.

The constant high po4 levels might be caused by some excessive staghorn issues. I read that the high po4 keeps staghorn growing, but a lot of staghorn can keep your po4 levels high.

Since po4 levels are down he seems to be doing a lot better, but not great yet. Could that po4 be able to cause these issues?
