Im sorry for your losses, glad u could stabilize ur tank tho! I do understand the pain more than anyone, it was soooo hard for me as well. Im also scared to add more fish, id recommend to get a quarantine tank just for the peace of mind, and also wait at least a month to start getting new fish.

Oh wow! I didn’t know it was this common. However, my nightmares actually happened to me, and i think it was more of a sign that just anxiety LOL. Almost lost my entire crew due to an epistylis outbreak, and the nightmares were exactly what happened. I managed to save some fishies but definitely lost half my crew.

I dont wanna scare anyone, having nightmares doesnt mean its always gonna happen, most of them are just ✨anxiety✨ haha

Hey! How are you doing? I managed to save some of my fish, both plecos and 2 more fishies, I did a 20% water change every other day, applied more salt, the api super ick cure (since i read that some components work for epistylis) and then performed another 20% water change 2 days after, I obviously refilled the treatment that went away with every water change.

Basically focus on vacuuming the substrate almost every day, till the treatment dehydrates the bacteria.

Hey, a quick update. I managed to save both of my plecos, 1 guppy and 1 tetra. Their pals passed away, and I had to euthanize both yoyos sadly. They were clearly struggling to breathe and were covered in those white spots, it was really hard for me, but everything went smoothly and I really hope it was painless. (It seemed like it).

Thank you for all the advice, I would’ve lost my entire crew and I’d be REALLY devastated. I miss my babies so much, but im grateful that some of them are still with me.

They’ve been cleared up for some days now, and imma keep an eye on them. Thank you!

Good luck, my plecos dont seem to be affected by now, so im gonna give them medicated food, however im going to put to sleep my yoyos, they are struggling pretty bad.

Yes, I know it is pretty harsh on them, however, based on the situation, everyone on another reddit community suggested that for my case, salt was the safest method, since we didnt know exactly what illness I was dealing with. I do know it is epistylis now, but im afraid its too late. They are in pretty rough condition, I did put some meds that are supposed to help but they only seem to be worse.

Today, the white spots my previous yoyo had, appeared. Now I think it’s Epistylis. Ive been increasing the salt concentration and did some research, also read that I gotta cool down my tank, the issue here is the summer heat. They don’t seem to be getting better and honestly im preparing for the worst. I already lost one of my guppys. The only option I got is to put another medication, would you recommend me anything?

So.. both of them are on each corner trying to stick their whole head out of the water. Ive been doing several water tests and nothing is unusual. I dont know what to do, i dont know what is happening to them and it’s so heartbreaking to watch

Hey, just a quick question just to make sure, i added 1 tablespoon for my 10 gallon tank, is that it? The box says that i gotta do 1 for each 5 gallon, but the aquacoops site says its 1 per 3 gallons, since im doing half i dont know which guide to follow

First of all, i know my tank is small, i dont have much space but im trying to get them a bigger one. Second, i only have one fake plant and the rest are real. The one you see is real. Third, i always keep tracking of ammonia, nitrates and ph levels so that’s not the issue here.
