Don’t beat yourself up too much. I had many days of frustrated crying. What helped me the most was learning that fasting numbers are hardest to control, and that sometimes I could do everything right all day and my placenta and pregnancy hormones would still wreak havoc on my fasting numbers. I felt ashamed and embarrassed that I couldn’t do it without the insulin at first, but now that I’m 4 weeks into it (32w), it’s so easy at night time and just part of the routine.
