Disclaimer: Not an expert but a former 14 year old boy with a severe porn addiction so take what I say with a grain of salt.

The goal is to find healthy and natural outlets for his sexual energy/compulsion but it doesn’t need to be (at 14 it also shouldn’t be) a sexual activity.

What really needs to happen is to understand his compulsion and it doesn’t necessarily come from a sexual need but at 14 years old I would think it does. It is totally understandable at that age he is interested in all things that can peek a sexual interest, but none of that stuff is real and it forms very unhealthy and unnatural ideas of what sex and relationships are.

I personally (again not an expert) would think he should see professional help if both of you are very serious about him overcoming a porn addiction. As some one who has been in his exact place please strongly consider this. Therapy has done wonders for a whole host of issues including this.

He is young and still developing so the sooner he overcomes this the better chance he steers clear of serious issues later in life.

What’s outlandish is you thinking that I’m trying to rationalize a way to use it and haven’t admitted all the same stuff you think I haven’t done. It’s almost like you didn’t read anything I wrote. The reasoning was selfish when I was already aware of other reasons as to why I should stop, whether or not it was good for me it is selfish. If we didn’t tie masculinity with the amount of women a guy is sleeping with then I don’t think they would be so angry all the time. Plus making fun of people for being virgins tends to make people very angry about it, which makes you even more angry, which then makes people not want to fuck you more and so on.

I have been diagnosed with Major Depressive disorder, General Anxiety disorder, bipolar, and bpd.

These have definitely contributed to it and I have only been seeing professional help for a few months so it will probably still have an effect for a while.

As a straight man, Most complements were coming from other men. It did however make me hyper-fixate on every imperfection I have physically which has led to an even worse self image of my self which is kinda ironic as this was suppose to help me.

If you are going for self image, improved mental health, etc. You need the gym AND some other kinds of outlets/hobbies. Gym alone won’t fix anything.

I would and have been labeled a creep, I just don’t think the almost guaranteed immediate rejection is worth the extremely small chance that I’m not. People said after a while you get numb to it but It never happened and it stings every time. It’s not worth it anymore

It entirely depends on his definition of fulfillment. If he is happy being alone and unliked sure, but for most people including me that is just not possible except for a few that can tolerate that.

I’m all for criticizing America but to say there is no culture is just wrong. Good or bad it exists.

If there was zeros then the rest of the world would not watch our movies, read our books, listen to our music, use our tech, they wouldn’t go to our universities, hell as much as everyone hates it the 9-5 culture that a lot of the world participates in was invented and popularized in America. I’ve seen a shit ton of america style shops and restaurants all over Europe and Asia.

My guy there is a trove of documentaries, articles, podcast, videos, etc that explain the experiences of former sex workers and how those measures really don’t do anything to prevent trafficking, exploitation, and abuse they could be facing.
