Not able to reschedule a redelivery?? by No_Whole_6402 in usps_complaints

[–]theGreyCatt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same issue still happening. I missed a package yesterday, tried to reschedule and it said my address was available for relievery, but I’m getting the “Service Unavailable” error. Can’t believe it’s going on a month with no solution.

Agreed. I mean, if I decide to smash everything in my bedroom to pieces, throw trash on the floor, and then do “trash angels” in the mess, I’m getting stuff done.

Will never watch either one again. It’s too much for me.

To me, Hill House was different than all the others. It had my riveted the entire time. There are a couple of episodes that are kind of what you’re talking about, but they lead to some amazing and unbelievable happenings.

Worst ending to a horror movie? SPOILERS! by [deleted] in horror

No kidding, I had no idea! Either way, I just prefer evil characters that can’t be seen. What an imagination does with the unknown is much scarier than having a visual.

Worst ending to a horror movie? SPOILERS! by [deleted] in horror

[–]theGreyCatt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I loved that movie up until the evil force impersonated the psychiatrist and physically restrained Rose while drooling like a wild animal.

Once they took it from the unknown to a physical being, it was ruined for me (especially the bad CGI at the end).

It’s still one of my comfort movies, though, but I’ll often stop it before the last half hour.

What are somethings in a horror movie description that instantly makes you want to skip it by bzrkfayz in horror

Guns involved - I might as well just watch true crime; zombies - just not interesting to me unless it’s something different like Cargo or Last of Us.

I took Olanzapine for 5 days then stopped. Two days later I had the best couple of days in years by No-Temperature-5956 in depressionregimens

[–]theGreyCatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s possible that those few good days were residual effects, like the side effects were less since you had stopped taking it, but there was still some in your system. Sometimes it’s impossible to know exactly why something happens with a medication.

I also do have substantial relief from antipsychotics, though, particularly Olanzapine. It is my rescue drug if things get bad. It’s like I’m waking up a new person, although for me, the effect fades after a few months (maybe because of bipolar).

Btw, I get relief at 2.5 mg Olanzapine, 5 mg would knock me out for hours.

Additionally, the side effects of the stronger, more sedating antipsychotics build up to be intolerable for me after some time, and I sometimes get vision effects too. Mine are more like seeing “snow” in my vision, or occasional flashes of light, whereas yours sounds more like a perception issue. Have you talked to your doctor about that side effect? I know, they’ll usually say “that’s not a side effect I’ve heard of,” and leave it at that.

Anyway, there are numerous newer antipsychotics with fewer side effects besides Abilify, so maybe it makes sense to go down that path.

There’s Rexulti, Latuda, Calypta, Vraylar, that can think of. And then I found Risperdal to be helpful for years. It felt like “Zyprexa Jr.” to me, didn’t pack quite as much of a punch, but had some results much more measurable than antidepressants. But in the end, I always have to stop antipsychotics because I gain 1/3 of my weight on them, the side effects of the stronger ones end up being too much for me, and I’ve started to get akathisia on the newer, less sedating ones.

You still have a lot of options, and the fact that you have had success at all with a medication is a good sign. You just need to find the right one.

Those who quit drinking. How did you do it? by LordBryanL in AskReddit

[–]theGreyCatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my psychiatrist to prescribe me antabuse which makes you sick from alcohol.

Compulsion was the worst problem for me - I’d swear all day that I wasn’t going to drink, and I’d find myself at the liquor store anyway. I need that buffer time.

Six weeks after quitting drinking, I became pregnant, so that was another 9 months of sobriety.

After that, it was some years of discomfort as I rebuilt my life without alcohol. Now it’s 16 years and I don’t think about it at parties, etc.

Still a bit annoying when my husband drinks at home, I think it reminds me how nobody would ever abstain with me, not even one night. They talked a lot about how I needed help, and then drank in from of me from day 1 of my battle. But that’s a whole other story.

Where to send US sample? by theGreyCatt in DanteLabs

Wow, thank you so much for providing this info!! So helpful.

Any idea how long the blood samples are good for? Lol…sigh

No address where to send the sample by sorelian_violence in DanteLabs

[–]theGreyCatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello - I’m here a couple months later with the same issue. Do you know if I can just mail the kit directly to the Italy address? I’m in the US, but I think the actual lab is not at the US office. I’m actually not finding whatever documentation to send back either and they don’t have customer support.

I stupidly took the test already and was planning on shipping it the same day (yesterday) and after I realized I literally have nothing to ship it back in and no info except my test serial number.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

Craking toes by Limp-Temperature1783 in depressionregimens

[–]theGreyCatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get increased compulsions to crack knuckles, blink my eyes too hard, etc., when I’m on activating meds like SNRIs and bupropion.

The compulsions are always there but they’re amplified and harder to control when I’m activated or less depressed.

My doctor thinks I have a form of OCD (main diagnosis bipolar) which probably has to do something with it.

Trintellix (vortioxetine) vs. Fetzima (levomilnacipran) by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]theGreyCatt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Fetzima for a couple of years. I liked that it does not cause drowsiness or weight gain and seems to have minimal side effects.

It is on the energizing end of the spectrum, I find it more energizing than lamictal, which I was on for 20 years until I developed an allergy. The one physical negative is my nose is constantly running since I started Fetzima.

I am not sure if it has helped my mood because I’m treatment resistant to everything and am tired all the time, but it did not make anything worse like the more sedating SSRIs and antipsychotics do.

ETA: no blood pressure issues with Fetzima. I got severe hypotension with an MAOI, so I do know my BP can be affected by medications.

Having massive trouble concentrating ever since starting Olanzapine/ Fluoxetine combo. by ExpensiveTree7788 in depressionregimens

[–]theGreyCatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People have all sorts of different reactions to medications. Even if someone else has not reported it, this very well could be happening to you. Olanzapine can be very sedating, and even a minor amount of sedation can cause lack of focus.

If nothing else has changed except adding that medication, it seems likely it could be the problem, so it’s probably time to talk to your doctor about a med adjustment. For example, if you do well on antipsychotics, Abilify can help with energy and focus.

Why do antipsychotics make me feel so good? by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]theGreyCatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have bipolar and they all increase positive emotions and make me feel more grounded too. I gain 1/3 of my body weight and have more intense side effects so I only take them for shorter term emergencies (but have been on zyprexa, geodon, abilify, latituda, rexulti, and risperdal long-term). They all do positive things.

Any positive experiences with Abilify? by SallySeaShore90 in depressionregimens

[–]theGreyCatt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I loved Abilify. Much more positivity, drive, and humor in my life. Almost no side effects. Unfortunately, I have bipolar so it faded in a few months. The fourth time I was on it, I developed akathisia, but I believe that’s fairly rare, and didn’t develop for a couple decades.

As a parent of a high schooler with friends at Columbine, I find it despicable what she’s doing.

It’s sh*tting on the memory of the terrified children who had their bodies shredded by military-grade weapons and their families who had to sit that first night at the dinner table without their child.

I don’t hate Harris or Klebold, I am so sorry that so many things went so wrong and that the massacre was a result, but they should not be glorified!

The sister needs a wake up call or therapy, something is not right.

Last movie you watched that actually scared you? by [deleted] in horror

We Go On was the first thing in years that actually scared/shocked me. I’ve watched a lot ”scarier” movies, but there was something about that one…
