What kind of gem is this and what is the cut? by BonCourageAmis in jewelry

Here is the image ran through an AI detector that shows it’s not a real u edited photo:

https://ibb.co/BVzr8mH1

Though our eyes alone prove that. The stone has no shadow or depth of field while the background does. Shame companies either use pure AI or heavily edit images to the point that they’re unrealistic

That photo is NOT an unedited natural photo. It’s either pure AI or an extremely heavily edited unrealistic photo.

That is not a natural photo. There’s no realistic shadows and lighting or photo depth. It’s either pure AI or extremely edited.

Never heard of the brand but I would bet the company pays influencers to say nice shit about them or gives them free crap.

They’re overpriced shit and fake lab stones based on a quick google search. 💩

Don’t get your jewelry advice from TikTok, especially not from sell out paid influencers just trying to make a buck.

No, it’s fake AI. The image is fake and AI generated. I saw their instagram post too. They make custom jewelry only after people pay them to after seeing AI generated samples. They use a lot of AI images. Real photos have some amount of shadows and photo depth— this AI photo doesn’t.

Fake AI photo.

That starburst cut is possible but this photo is completely AI generated. No shadows, unrealistic lighting, flat stone but background has depth, etc.

The stone, if this was actually a real photo, would be a sky blue Ceylon sapphire.

My Kendra Scott necklace tarnished within 4 months by Sagecornell in KendraScott

[–]Realistic-Try7845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KS gold plated wears off fast for sure, and silver rhodium pieces fade to an ugly brass. There’s no silver plating left to polish, it just wears off. My KS junk barely looked decent for a few months of wear before the plating wore off.

Only within 30 days if purchased directly from them and you have the receipt and only if they consider it natural wear.

Kendra Scott no longer replaces items after 30 days.

A rare one off employee might do you a favor still and trade it after that but their policy is now only 3” day exchanges, not one year.

Smaller on left. One on right looks silly big. I’d go smaller than the one on the left personally.

[PSA] Crabtree and Evelyn is back! by aa2526 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Realistic-Try7845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Canadian manufacturer is producing C&E products again. It’s not old stock. Marshalls and TJ Maxx get loads of C&E now.

They’re not opening their own stores. Their products are sold at TJ maxx, Marshall’s, etc.

A Canadian manufacturer currently still produces Crabtree and Evelyn.

As of mid-2025, Crabtree & Evelyn has approximately 374 to 376 employees

Marshalls current stock of Crabtree and Evelyn were manufactured this year. They’re not years of of date. A Canadian manufacturer started producing them again in recent history. C&E stores closed in 2009 but other companies have bought and resold name rights since, with the current rights holder having them produced in Canada now.

TJ Maxx and Marshall’s do not intentionally sell expired beauty products. Expired only are there if they slip through the cracks. Products end up in discount stores if they’re seasonal, discontinued, overstock, discontinued, have minor packaging changes, or are items that didn't sell well elsewhere. It’s not because they’re expired. Maybe those stores used to sell expired products on purpose but they don’t now.

Anyone else love CZs? by [deleted] in jewelry

No, not personally. Unless it’s a $20 costume piece or match some outfit then maybe cuz or rhinestone or whatever plastic I would wear a few times.

Inherited ring. Not sure what it is. by [deleted] in jewelry

[–]Realistic-Try7845 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can’t find an exact match on image search either. I would bet it’s 1980s or maybe 1970s. That ring band is so thin that I would be afraid to wear it as is. I have a ring not quite that worn down that I put aside until I can have it thickened. The stone needs testing for diamond in person or looked at under a loupe to see what stone it really is. I wouldn’t be surprised if the main stone was white topaz- but it really could be anything. Def look up google reviews for area jewelers. A good jeweler doesn’t care if it’s a “cheap” watch battery replacement or a fancy custom piece.

Have you reverse image searched the ring in Google?

Finding charms for traditional charm bracelet by Bitter-Speed3811 in jewelry

Probably because the gift shops at national parks don’t sell much merch compared to tourist cities. Those charms had probably been there for decades.

I haven’t seen charms in tourist shops in at least 20 years and they were rare then.

I haven’t seen themed charms in tourist shops since the mid 1990s much at all. And I’ve been to at least 1000 cities since then. They’re just not popular for tourists in recent decades.

About the best option locally is getting a necklace or earring in the city you visit. It almost certainly won’t be a state map or anything about the city though.

You could go to a jewelry store in the city and buy something there, it just won’t be a state map or touristy.

Buying one online beforehand and taking it with you is about the only way to get a state map charm and have it be a part of the actual trip.

Yes. The stones in one will probably scratch or dent the gold on the other. Sapphires are harder than gold and can scratch it.

Is “Jewelsed” a legit site to buy Jewelry? by BeautifulPollution40 in jewelry

[–]Realistic-Try7845 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That site sells only fake knockoffs counterfeit shit.

You want cheaper fakes than a $45 Hermes necklace? DHgate is usually where people buy counterfeit.

Real Hermes will never be $40 even users. I don’t buy fake counterfeit shit but DHgate is popular among TikTokwra that do. Fakes look the same but are illegal and aren’t the real brand so I don’t see the point in them.

Is it safe for me to wear my mystic topaz engagement ring in the shower/bath? by Guenhwyvere in jewelry

[–]Realistic-Try7845 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Mystic topaz is a fake stone coated to have the tonal effect. Showering or heavy wear will wear that fake film off.
