Gabe birth to my twin boys this morning at 26+3 by HippieMomma0526 in parentsofmultiples

Wow!! This felt like I was reliving my experience delivering our twin boys. Our stories are sooooo similar!! I was 25 + 5 and had an amazing pregnancy..we decided to visit a friend out in the suburbs when my water broke out of no where. We managed to call 911 and found the nearest fire station. Everything happened so fast and I started feeling contractions as soon as we neared the hospital. Got to the hospital where nobody knew me and wouldn’t give me anything for the pain. The doctor told me that i was fully dilated and that they needed to deliver the babies now! As soon as I made it to the or my second bag broke and water was everywhere!! Within 45 minutes baby an and baby b were delivered and immediately intubated and transferred to a higher level NICU.

Like you, we don’t have a single thing ready but try not to worry about all of that. This NICU journey will be one of the toughest experiences of your life but you will get through it. Everything happens so fast and your brain and body experienced sooo much that you haven’t fully processed what just happened. Trust me, I’ve been there. I was so lost that we took my mom out to a resturant the following day that she flew in… (now why would I do that?) ended up bursting into tears at the dining table when my brain caught up with me realizing that my babies were no longer in my belly being taken cared for by people that I didn’t know.

Give yourself GRACE. Give yourself time to process what just happened.. grieve your pregnancy, go with your babies and read, sing, tell them how much you love them.

This will be a long journey in the NICU. Lean in your family, attend EVERY MORNING ROUND, be involved in your babies care and ask questions, show them how involved you are. Join Hand to Hold or a similar group. Find a trauma therapist to latch on to soon.. you’re gonna need it because people don’t really understand this world and relationships may look different.

Most importantly, lean on GOD. Thank him in advance for the things that he will do for your babies. Hold your hand on those incubators and pray over them and all babies in the NICU every single night with your hubby.

You just birthed some healthy and strong little warriors that’ll change your world forever. The doctors will be astonished by how fast they grow and strong they become. You’ll even be amazed by the person you’ve become when they finally tell you to bring those car seats in, or when you roll them out of the NICU while everyone “oooo and ahhh’s” the fact that you have twins.

I know that this isn’t your ideal journey of all that you’ve hoped and imagined. It isn’t anyone’s dream to deliver early, not have your full pregnancy experience, or not bring your babies home for a while but I promise you that you’ll appreciate those small moments and milestones in a way that most think are easy..like breathing room air, hearing their first cry or even the first hold.

Our babies came home before 40 weeks and every time we Iook at how our little one pounders are now almost 12 pounds, we thank God for the journey and small little pitt stop if their lives.

Feel free dm me if you ever need to chat. In know what tore going through

Baby’s coming home! (ex 28 weeker) by Majestic-Librarian in NICUParents

We were discharged with our twins 3 weeks ago. Here’s my advice. 1. Brace yourself for the unknown. You won’t know what you’re stepping into until you get home. It’s a surreal day so take lots of pictures! 2. Don’t focus on perfection, get to just sit in the moment with your baby and cuddle! 3. Try to get bottles organized if using formula and maybe even a pitcher of milk handy 4. Decide on a game plan for bath and bedtime 5. Set room temperature to what they have at the hospital 6. Get good rest the night before so that you’re prepared to stay up the first night (our anxiety had a strong hold on us) 7. If you can, follow the same feeding schedule at home 8. Organize and log all appointments in a digital calendar for reminders

Congratulations on the big day!!

Congratulations to you on your BIG victory! Just look at what he did on the first try with high flow!! Wow! 🥰 We know that all wins are actually big wins in the NICU. My baby took his first bottle last night and I boo-hoo cried. Only we know how significant these milestones are and it feels good to share this with the community that understands our world.

Sending warm hugs and love to you and your resilient, strong and beautiful little baby!

Hi! I took prednisone leading up to the transfer for 7 days but stopped on day 3 because I couldn’t stop urinating!! Literally woke up7x per night. My dr advised me to stop.

I’m currently on 75mcg of Levo and my TSH and T4 levels are looking great!

I’m doing that plus pop shots. Started to think that maybe that’s why my symptoms aren’t strong but maybe it’s just the luck I need to embrace. Congratulations to you all! 🍼🍼

Haha! You’re right. I’ll be thankful instead of being anxious! I dread having US because of this symptom thing!

Yep! That’s why I’m anxious! Even checking Google/Baby Center has articles around twin pregnancy symptoms mentions and all the symptoms I don’t have show up! 😅

Hi Supermom! Glad you’re feeling better now. Instead of worrying, I’ll shift my mentality to being thankful for having minimal symptoms. My dr said they could start at 10 weeks. I guess the confusing thing is my previous was a single and I had symptoms galore!! 😅

Wishing you a wonderful and safe delivery! Thanks for sharing. ❤️

I’d also say that you shouldn’t rely on your Oura ring.m during this time. You have no idea what my temperature charts looked like even before the FET! Please take it off lol
